The app does a few things but it doesn’t track either distance or route when cross country skiing which I think is most important. I wouldn’t recommend this app.
9 times out of 10 the Track starts >1 km from my actual location. Once it starts it’s accurate but total workout distance is incorrect.
It’s crazy to me that Apple doesn’t natively track a cross country ski workout that includes distance. I have been using the hike workout as a work around but so happy to finally have this! I like to go fast on hills so the top speed function is cool. The app does speak to you, and it kind of creeped my out till I realized what was going on. Thought somebody else was on the trail but could only hear them now and again lol. I do like to know my minutes per km since that’s how I monitor my pace. Maybe in a future update if it’s not already in there and I’m just missing it?! So happy to finally have a way to track my skis though, so no complaints from me!

So much better being able to record GPS tracks while skiing. I know many other 3rd party apps seem to use extra battery but I notice absolutely no difference between this and the default workout app. My only bit of feedback would be to integrate the physical button pinch to pause and show season totals :)
This is a decent app for cross-country skiing for iOS/ Apple watch and probably the best option available so far, but it unfortunately still doesn’t check all of the boxes. Distance, heart rate graph data (average is synched) elevation gain/loss and splits are not synched with Fitness. Maybe the API doesn’t allow it? Weird omission either way. Still very grateful to the developer for putting this together and I will be using it. Bottom line is there should not be a need for this kind of app - Apple should properly record this kind of activity natively in the workout app. C’mon Apple, this should be low hanging fruit for you. You can emulate the skiing motion signals seen on snow with roller skis on dry pavement if need be.
I bought this app to get speed and distance info (since the Apple Watch doesn’t record for some strange reason). I’ve used it 3 times. Based on the signage at the areas, I skied 14 km once and 7.5 twice. According to the app, I skied 5.67 km, 1.5 km, and 0.95 km. Wish I could get my money back. 🤬
I am kicking myself that I didn’t get this app sooner. I thought by the name that it catered to back country skiers, but it is really just a great way to track any cross-country skiing workout. Now I don’t need to use the garbage cross country skiing setting on the Apple Watch fitness app.
Hello I’ve downloaded the App and I can’t get the Km to show up on it , can you please help ?
