Backstage - Casting Calls

Great App to have (aswell as the desktop version for sure) for all the aspiring talents and creators. It is legit, has a worldwide reputation, it is safe and you an get amazing opportunities aswell as free monologues , directories, tips, trainings! I am really really stunned by the surrealistic moments I went through by signing up. Sure you have to purchase a memebership but it seems fare to me regarding the results you eventually get out of it.👍👍👍

Despite that was totally convinced things may happen my entire life,It's a fact that it sounds like a surrealistic project but I engaged myself into it , at least I would have tried. Just wantd to say a big thank you because I always received some casting proposals which were totally totally exciting to to get, sometimes I even started to think that it was automatically generated because it was too much what I saved us Keim words, I already reached won something which probably will remain in my mind forever and after this absolute excitement appeared suddenly all of a sudden I must admit that I'm a little bit nervous and I cannot wait to see the next steps!

So I’m 11 and have been in 4 plays for a local acting company. It doesn’t pay or anything, it’s just for fun. But that’s how I discovered I love acting. I was playing my game and saw an ad for backstage and thought it would be perfect for a starting child actor. There are a lot of opportunities near me which is great (do note I live near LA, Hollywood, Santa Barbara). There aren’t a lot of opportunities for a girl my age but there are some, and I could definitely pass as 13-15. I’ve found two jobs so far, one is an extra with a few lines and another is a lead for a movie (I probably won’t get it but it can’t hurt to try). I haven’t applied to anything yet because I wanna ask my parents first. I don’t think it is a great app for someone unemployed or under 18 because based on the comments it is a very expensive app. But I do like just looking at what’s open and having experience looking for an acting job. The app seems very professional, organized, and neat. If it wasn’t so expensive I think a lot of talented actors of all ages could find jobs and make a living off of it. If you really think “I’m going to be a famous actor/actress” then go for it! But if you’re more like “acting is a fun hobby of mine” don’t bother getting the app, the sign up is way to complicated, and all the jobs ( even the ones you don’t get paid for) are way to expensive to apply to. On the bright side, if you’re a model or backstage crew member this app also helps you find jobs for that too! Hope this helps!

The most toxic and disrespectful staff in the history of customer service. Have had to deal with them about a dozen times over 10 years and have never had a positive interaction. They act personally victimized and unapologetic if you want to point out a glitch. I recommend Actors Access, Casting Networks, and Playbill instead as their customer service is always very kind and helpful.

I had the app for a year, paid for a premium account, uploaded images. I never got not one gig or even a person interested and I had a applied to atleast 50-60 roles within a yrs timeframe. Nothing. 2yrs later backstage is still sending me emails for roles I’ll never be casted in. I even had a voice portfolio on there. Its truly a waste of time.

Pros! 1. It’s actually a good time looking through the movies and has a good way to filter what you want to act in from comedy, Tragedy, even stand up or voice acting! 2. It’s an extremely helpful set up and has endless possibilities of helping build the viewers dreams of being an actor/actress! Cons.. 1. I don’t really like the app because of its monthly fee. Like it limits my dreams of being an actor to pay extra. So if you could either like lower the prices or get rid of the monthly fee entirely that'd be great. 2. There isn’t really a search bar for any of this. Most of the time I’m busy looking up the name or category on google and I find one but when I go to the app I’m lost.

I did the 99$ subscription and it still told me to upgrade and would not let me apply for any jobs could someone explain?

I decided to get this app because I wanted to get my acting career started while I’m young. So far, I have not gotten any roles but that’s how it is in the acting business anyway! It’s NOT a scam, it just takes a while because so many people submit auditions.

this app is honestly good! but its so expensive :( im a beginner actor who cant afford the subscription. i want to start acting but cant afford.
