Ballistic X Reviews

Surprise annual fee

Oregonguy3 on

United States

This is a great app but I was surprised to see an annual fee to unlock the “advanced” features that I thought were included based on seeing them in the preview picture. Paying annually for simple CEP calculations is silly. Feedback for the developer: be more up front about your pricing model and what you charge annually for. Update: I’ve paid for it, have been using it, and updated to two stars because it’s useful but not as much as I expected

I enjoy this app.

I have used software to measure groups back when it was only available on a desktop computer. I get a kick out of offering feedback and it incorporated into updates. Previous to Ballistic X I was using On Target.

Does exactly what I want it to

It’s good at showing moa and is pretty intuitive. The pdf export is also glitched.

Major Features Locked

ArmedOne78 on

United States

Most of the major features are locked behind a per year fee. After buying the app, I don’t expect to pay for the features that should have been included in the beginning. I would not have purchased the app had I known this. There are plenty of free apps that do what this one wants you to pay twice for. I will be requesting a refund.

Negative

***Holmesx4*** on

All this app does is measure your group. When I purchased it I believed that it was a true ballistics app.. not so. Should be called the “group measurement” app. I would like to get a refund but can’t figure out how to request it.

Caliber coverage is not enough

United States

Some states only allow straight wall cartridges for hunting. Better add some calibers like .350 legend and .450BM to the list

Great Tool!

SMK175 on

United States

Makes range day easier to check accuracy and keep you focused on better shooting technique. Great support is only a few clicks away if needed. Would definitely recommend!

Not worth the money

8584279753 on

For the price I’d expect at least some automation. But no, keep your phone straight, don’t forget your 1 inch reference, pick that reference ends, pick your impact points, all manually. It shouldn’t be that hard to detect concentric circles or squares and correct image automatically. Target sizes are standard, so figuring out scale once target position is established and corrected also shouldn’t be hard.

Does what I need

skrapevets on

United States

It does what I need it to do. I use it to catalog load development. The extra fluff like the leader board and the public sharing is not for me but others I’m sure like it. It’s a good app.

Just buy it 👍

Works great. Definitely a worthwhile purchase if you shoot a lot. FYI, all the negative reviews are from when it wasn’t supported. But I can confirm it works on iOS 16.
