The Bankmed application is simple to use and provides a convenient way to access your information on your Medical Aid - anytime, anywhere.

Application features:

Bankmed Medical Scheme:
View your plan benefits and your Savings details, (should your plan include savings). Search for your most recent healthcare claim details with 12 months of claims’ history, view your approved chronic conditions and track benefit usage. Search for a Healthcare Professional and view your Electronic Heath Record (EHR).

Balance members can now access Active Rewards:
Active Rewards for Balance members encourages and rewards you for getting active. Achieve your Active rewards weekly exercise goals, earn fitness points and get rewarded with a play on the gameboard to reveal Miles – the rewards currency that you can redeem for a range of exciting rewards in the rewards mall.

User notes:

The application is available for any Bankmed Medical Scheme member. You are required to register on the Bankmed website (www.bankmed.co.za) before you will be able to log into the Bankmed App. Your username and password for the App will be the same as your username and password for the Bankmed website. To access your personalised Active Rewards exercise goals, Balance members need to activate the Active Rewards benefit in the Bankmed app.

Linking to Apple Watch and viewing rewards.

The App delinks my watch automatically and for 2 months I’ve been retrying to refresh and link with fail. I’ve detected and reinstalled a dozen times with fail. No communication concerning the issue has ever been sent. Poor service

The app does not auto refresh

We constantly have to delete and install the app for it to refresh. And constantly have to manually refresh especially when it comes to vitality. Even though the watch and the other app is connected then when you call Bankmed they tell you to delete and install the app for refresh. The app is user friendly but the refresh part is a setback. Please sort out the sync wit IOS. The watch sync is updates doesn’t update the recent activities.

Tedious login process

The app is built on the same rails as discovery app, yet does not offer faceID or fingerprint access. Please fix.

Headache

This app is a mess. You have to uninstall after every login and reinstall to access your account 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

Worst App Ever

We cannot be paying so much money and have such an underwhelming app. Why do I need to type in my password with every interaction of the app and not have an Apple Face ID added as a quick secure way to open the app? The “activate rewards” feature is such a scam. I have a Garmin watch linked yet it is still inactive. I try to activate the feature and every time it crashes. This is so poor and bad for a medical aid provider deemed luxurious but they cannot get the app right. If you copy Discovery on everything, why not let their developers do justice on this app too?

iOS app error

Having to reinstall the app every few days is very annoying. Please fix it!!

Worst Bank Ever and Worst App

Nothing ever works on this asap. You have to ininstall and reinstall for your points to reflect correctly if they reflect at all. It does not download digital cards and now my miles are going to waste because I cannot download the vouchers. Everything is just a mess!!

Have to constantly delete and reinstall app to view active rewards

App is bad

Medical aid is decent, been with them since 2013. But the app has always been useless. Can’t even upload a picture to download a digital card. Wasted my time downloading the app. Easier to just use the website than than a bugged app
