Works for a few days on my IPad, then crashes and have to turn the IPad off and restart, Very annoying.
I use BankTree primarily on my PC and synchronise with the mobile app. Not needing paid functionality, I am happy with the free version. It gives me an up-to-date view of my various accounts and allows me to enter transactions on the go.
Been using Bank Tree for a few years now. The online versions is pretty good and you can export to excel which open the doors to a lot of options. This app I have really struggled to use. The positives is that you can maybe find transaction info on the go and add receipts to transactions from your mobile. It’s disappointing that you can’t sync to the bank. This would really help keep on top of your transactions. The app layout doesn’t mirror online when it comes to accounts. Eg you can group your accounts into current accounts or savings etc, but here it just lists them. The accounts page confuses me because I assumed if you clicked on it, the next click would show transactions, but it seems to only show a screen where to can manage the name etc. I’m not convinced on the search facility. I find it’s just quicker to go and find the laptop, than use the app.
I am trying the “free” version before I commit to buy and there’s a problem. If you try to delete a category it comes up with a window stating you need the full version to do this so press ok or go. If you press either choice it just freezes and will not budge unless you turn your phone off and back on. Not impressed.
This is the 4th time I have had t delete and re download the app because it froze. I have the pro version on my iPad but this doesn’t seem to work on my iPhone. The entries don’t always synchronise. The online version is quite good but the app is pretty poor tbh.
While this works and syncs well with the Online cloud version it is lacking in some basic functionality. The ability to reconcile a transaction (without having to go to a pc) for starters. Adding a new category or payee is clunky and counter intuitive (why not save a new payee as you type the transaction in instead of having to go to + when you find out it doesn’t already exist, then make sure you put focus in the right box then confirm then go back to the transaction?) - so long winded. This app could really complement BankTree Online with a bit of thought
It’s so easy to keep track of finances...Online takes control so if you started on phone or tablet then go to do merge the online takes control and wipes all that you’ve done.. however I find it great to keep control on my iPad..
Been using BankTree 2 on PC for many years and use it religiously every day. Bought the premium version of this iPad app to allow me to use it on the go but it just won’t import the backup file from my pc using Google Drive or DropBox, also tried emailing the backup file and saving to my iPad to import from there but no joy. Then looked to see if there was a upgraded p.c. version but this costs £35.00. Tried the free trial to see if it was worth upgrading but it completely messed up all the account values on my p.c. when importing my backup file. Moral of the story, if starting from scratch it’s probably okay but if like me you need to import older files then don’t waste your time. Thank fully it’s only £4.99 down the drain.
One of the best apps. I use this with BankTree online - both work very well for me.
