Update 2025-08-14: Thank you for the strength filter tip. Perfecto! BarSpoon is a well-designed, easy-to-use app that makes home mixing a breeze. I love being able to store my recipes, add notes, and “heart” my favorites for quick access. To make it even better, I’d love to see: • Search by strength (e.g. low ABV, mocktail, non-alcoholic) • Recipe scaling for adjusting quantities from 1 drink to 2+ These features would add flexibility without complicating the clean interface. Great app overall—excited to see how it evolves!
I don’t write reviews. But this app is great. My only gripe would be for it to rotate to landscape on the iPad and my favorites to sync between the phone and iPad. It’s got a beautiful look and the content is exceptional. Worth the premium buy for sure.
I’ve tried all the pay-for-play bar apps and seriously, none of them can compare to the BarSpoon app. I tell all my friends about it and I use it all the time as I have a pretty extensive home bar. It motivates me to make drinks I would have never thought of. If I could suggest one thing though - for the drink recipes that I can make with the ingredients in my bar - please make a “surprise me” selection or a way to filter recipes by base liquor so that way when I feel like having a certain base then I can pull up recipes that I can make using it. Regardless, I don’t use my other app for my cocktail recipes. Thank you for making this app! The interface if classy, the drinks are amazing.
Missing a lot of information and key capabilities. But it’s a good start. The UI is nice. The UX needs some work. Database of spirits is lacking.
After trying almost every cocktail app on the App Store, I thought I finally found the one. Aesthetic, organized, almost perfect. The dealbreaker is sharing the recipe with others. When you share link it forces recipients to open the app if they have it. Or download the app if they don’t. If they’re opening the link on desktop they are totally out of luck. Impossible. There’s not even a PDF option. I just want to share my creations with my friends. Developers: if you fix this you’ll get 4 stars from me. Add a web based version for editing and a cloud backup, and you’ll get 5 stars and a subscription!
I have tried so many different cocktail apps, and this is simply the best. Beautiful interface and easy to navigate. Upgraded to the premium version. Totally worth it.
After trying most every bar app in the store, I settled on this one. After walking through all the features of it, I upgraded to the paid version. I have since filled my virtual cabinet and added a handful of personal favorites of the house. The other thing to consider is the quality of recipes within an app. These all appear to be top quality recipes and with the exception of special syrup liqueurs, it doesn’t specify name brand liquor which is nice.
