Ideal for mini apps

I wrote a couple of useful utilities using this language app. One to calculate miles per gallon when you enter litres and miles travelled. This BASIC app is a must have for me.

Very good

The app itself is very good and I have been able to write some very useful programs using it. However I have been unable to get any support - I have tried many times to login to the support forum without success. In addition there was an earlier version of this app which stopped working - the developer decided to rewrite the app but that meant that I had to buy the app again and I lost all the programs that I had written

Used the original for years

Just updated phone to an 11 and unfortunately original not available. Just found the updated version here and just made my day!! I constantly used SmartBasic (Original) for all my concepts due to being extremely fast. Thank you sooooo much for continuing support from the original. £9.99 is well worth it (as have had at least 5 years of use). Very powerful ! Very highly recommended ! If you love programming - you would be silly not to !

Disappointing behaviour

[updated 31-Dec-2021] For no apparent reason … any HTML file that I try to open from my iPad ‘Files’ folder launches Smart Basic instead of a browser window. I have been obliged to delete the App so that ‘normal service’ is resumed. If there is a fix for this … Please let me know ! . [updated 18-Nov-2020] Thanks for the confirmation ... I do appreciate that it is ‘too late’ for you to change the function of INT, but I remain disappointed and frustrated by the need to re-write old BASIC programs to use INTEG instead. I am truly astonished and delighted by what can be done with this App, and thank you for developing it ... but it would have been nice to see full backward compatibility with BASIC . [my original review] I received notification that this App would be replacing “smart BASIC” Not yet tested, but he gets Five stars for that !! .... I am, however, disappointed to find that the INT function still does not comply with the original ‘Dartmouth BASIC’ definition. [quote] Ten numeric functions were provided. Write your own local app

I’ve used Smart BASIC for a few years now. I needed to run some calculations on my phone without having to carry a laptop, just like programmable pocket calculators could do in the early 1980’s. I edit in a PC text editor, copy and paste into email. Send it to myself. Select, copy, paste into this app. 5 stars.
