It was a great app to build iq in baseball
I downloaded this for fun to see how good it actually was. As a long time baseball player I know my stuff. So when I see it say that there is a pop up to second, and it’s NOT in the outfield, that i should call them off. This is a TERRIBLE idea. The outfielders NEVER have priority over the infield on a pop up inside of their area. As soon as it passes into the outfield is when it becomes the outfields priority. I hope the game fixes this before kids start to get false knowledge from this app.
I waited for a few minutes, closed and reopened and still a blue to green background only. Not sure what else should be there.
DAHHH MY DADS TEACHING ME THIS THISSS ISSS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BORINGGGGGGGGG
there will be two of the same answers, but only one is correct. otherwise it’s a great game for iq.
There’s A LOT of situations you have incorrect.
Certain situations are not correct. Runner on 1st and 2nd grounder hit to third basemen the shortstop will not cover second. Initially the SS will move to the right to back up the third baseman in case of a mishandle. 2nd baseman covers 2nd base. To go more in depth on backing up the center fielder will move to an angle to backup throw from third baseman to 2nd. Right fielder will move towards the right field line in case a throw gets away from third baseman to 1st base. Good stuff though. I do much of the same stuff with a white board and magnets to test our player knowledge then execute it on the field.
Interface is quite good. Not perfect. Some issues with button colors and making it look better/more intuitive. Needs an easy way to exit/save in the middle of a game/quiz to main nav. Ex: colors are overused and it’s difficult to discern what’s a button and what’s an answer sometimes. As another user indicated, there’s STILL an error on a Gball to 3B. SS Covers 2? Nope. SS Covers third? NOPE. SS backs up third FIRST, then moves to cover third, if necessary. Fixing Little nuances to the game answers would boost my rating to a 5/5. Last thing: I don’t see an option to turn off hitting sound. My phone is on silent, game should be on silent. Overall, very good, usable, but not a knock it out of the park solution.
Having used this app for about fifteen minutes, I’ve made a few conclusions and critiques; hope this review provides some helpful insight. This app looks to be a solid representation of baseball situations. After creating your profile, you are provided with two options: Game or Practice. After clicking a mode, you choose a position to play for the duration of the Game or Practice. Practice mode provides you with a situation, showing runners on base and outs. After clicking ‘Pitch’, the screen displays a hit to a position (accompanied by the type of hit, such as grounder, line drive, pop-up, etc.). Practice mode then gives you instructions on what your positions job is in the given play. Other helpful tips are also shown regarding the play. As for ‘Game’, it is nearly the same, however, you are quizzed on the situation. You must choose from multiple choices to test how well you know your baseball IQ. Critique: I came for a mode that would provide some insight as to what ALL the players would do. In Practice and Game, it simply tells you what your position does, and NOT the others. These situations are not tailored to your position, so as a center fielder for instance, there maybe only one or two plays in an entire practice rotation of roughly 9 plays that even involve a throw. Essentially in this center fielder scenario, you are provided with lots of situation where you are simply given the answer: “Backup the play in the infield”. It still doesn’t show you what the infields should do. Dev Recommendation: I would recommend adding info once what EVERY position does in a given play. Tailor the plays to the position picked by the app-user so you aren’t stuck with a bunch of unecessary plays that are (nearly) irrelevant to a position. This would greatly improve my usage of this app and probably help me to quiz myself more efficiently. Hopefully this helps!
