Wonderful work.
It’s probably one one the most exiting apps you need to have on your device.
I use bbc sounds mainly for the daily service and Sunday Worship . Please pass on my gratitude to the daily service team especially. I felt disappointed that it was moved from its place on Radio 4, after so many years, onto Radio 4 Extra. It seemed and felt like it had been sidelined, demoted even onto a station that replays old programs as though it was not considered very important any more. I believe it is the oldest running radio program in the world. Surely, it should have very high priority… However, I am pleased that we still can be encouraged through the readings, worship and reflections on God’s Word -to bring the peace that only He can give - over the airwaves in our United Kingdom 6 days each week throughout every year. Praise God and Thank you bbc sounds.
On iPad , I might want to rewind, but I cannot see the option . I was listening to the Dickens ghost story the mystery of Edwin Drood. I love the radio “dial” very effective
Provides an absolute wealth of great content. A wonderful companion.
Always something different to listen to well presented as ever with theBBC
I love BBC Sounds. There is always something to listen to. The site is quite easy to navigate and it’s free. What’s not to love?
Love it don’t know how I would survive without it now absolute god send
Update. It has now got even worse. Out of 12 programs I am subscribed to that are currently on the radio only 2 of them are appearing in the latest part of my sounds. Older programmes that I want to follow are now not appearing in my sounds at all meaning I have to check daily for the new episodes. Just because they are old eg all of 4 extra, doesn’t mean that we don’t want to listen to them now. Absolutely pathetic. If I could reduce to zero star review I would. BuT some of the developer’s responses are infuriating! “Subscriptions (my radio) are not grouped or ordered properly” we are looking at amending this. “It’s too bright”. We’re looking at introducing a dark mode and this from just a few reviews I’ve looked at. Surely all this should have been tested before releasing this debacle on the listeners. Did any of the developers actually use the old iplayer? Where were the User Assurance Coordinators? What about releasing beta versions to users before release. A massive step backwards for dedicated radio listeners. Dec 24 A facility to delete items from the “continue listening” part of the app would be very welcome. Mine is getting clogged up with one off programme I have listened to but don’t delete themselves or programmes I have tried and don’t like that sit there forever hiding the content that I want to access. This should be a brilliant app as the content is the best around but the developers never seem to get it right or change things for the sake of it ( as an IT consultant I know that is a temptation, delivered well to idiot management these updates can guarantee your job for years ahead)
