Tough to get started
Before your first ride in a new city, you need to scan your ID. There should be a way to upload a photo from your phone, because if I’m out exploring the city, my bags are back in the hotel and I don’t carry a wallet in 2023. The ability to upload my ID from a photo in my phone would make impromptu onboarding much easier.
Also, littered Birds are a nuisance (especially in Marseille) but I suppose that’s a fundamental problem with relying on users’ behaviour. At least the report feature is easy to use.
Amazing
as a 20 year old who can’t drive and doesn’t have the means to own a car, bird has been incredible for me and my lifestyle. Much better than the other scooter apps in my opinion, and somehow available in all different parts of the world. I spent the summer working in Indiana USA, living in a suburban neighborhood, almost an hour, away from where I work, and other amenities (groceries etc) and I think bird made the experience 10 times better. a lot Cheaper than an uber and about as fast. In Tenerife now and just as great ,with a bit less access to places and the scooters must be parked in designated parking spots which can beinconvenient, but I am still so grateful for the availability of these scooters. Scooters dangerously under maintained, support not listening
USE LIME OR BOLT. Bird scooters are dangerous. I used Bird in Lisbon and had to change scooter three times as the equipment is dangerously unmaintained. The scooters are visibly in worse condition than Lime and Bolt etc. Support refused to see what I was trying to say when I looked for a refund of the difference between the short ride I intended to take and the more than one hour ride it ended up being due to having to swap scooter multiple times. I had also entered a sign up discount €5 code which was accepted and applied to my account but then was not applied to my ride. Support ignored this.

False Referral System. Can’t use my “free ride”
Just like all the rest of the scooter sharing apps but my experience started off poorly.
It advertises a “free ride” if someone refers you. However the “free ride” can’t be redeemed! Ended up paying for 2 rides and still nothing.
Tried to log in to see if it can be fixed but my email is not being accepted on the site. No easy way to contact someone either.
Will opt for a competitor company in the future.
