Bitport FAQ
Is Bitport free?
Yes, Bitport is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Bitport legit?
⚠️ The Bitport app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
I see the app has not been updated in 9 months? Downloading doesn't work consistently. I was unable to download anything from my account. Please fix for iPhone X. Also needs uploading files function and the ability to add torrents for online downloading. Thanks.
Broken app
Can’t delete offline files, no matter how often I click on delete. Can’t deactivate subtitles in the in app video player, no matter how often I click on deactivate subtitles. This app is as dead as a dodo.
Not bad but has big glitches
I installed it after reading there was a new better version and it has some good things. It’s great being able to download for offline viewing and somehow the CC works way better than on the website (where it doesn’t seem to work at all) but I am having two problems, one it doesn’t recognize other devices to screen cast and the worse, once files are downloaded I can’t delete them, the delete option doesn’t do anything, so I can’t really download files if I won’t be able to delete them.
Cannot download in app or export
I really tough it was a pretty complete service with the app, but turns out its a bait feature to make you tink it has it but in reality never works
They rebuilt the app and is definitely better but my problem still persist ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so… yeah
Nothing works...
1. Couldn’t delete the file
2. Couldn’t download the file - it says my video file is infected with virus... and yet it plays & downloads fine using desktop
3. Couldn’t stream or download to VLC
App outdated; useless until it’s updated; use their web site interface for now.
Does Not Work. Needs Update. Use WebSite for now.
I’ve tried services like this in the past and they were always oversold and so slow. Now I’ve found BitPort.io which starts torrents within ~0-2min., downloading the torrent at it’s maximum possible speed to their cloud, for $5/mo (note: see BitPort.io website; this app only works with their service). Afterward, I select the file, or ZIP of files, in this BitPort App then click export to VLC, which initiates auto-download of the file(s) by VLC over my AT&T Unlimited Cellular Data service at ~40-85Mbps in my area, depending on time of day (note: with Net Neutrality gone you may also need a VPN). Then, I either watch the show on iPad or drag-drop to a PC via iTunes/iMazing/etc software from the VLC folder to the PC or a USB thumb drive for easy play on home theater.
Halfway there

Works well
Does as intended very well.
Bitport app doesn’t download
For some reason the Bitport website or browser will download the converted video very quickly but the app is like a 50/50 chance it will start to download or not. Even on high speed WiFi it still won’t start to show progress of downloading, only the circle appears showing its trying to download and just hangs or stalls. Hopefully this can be fixed as I can’t watch any movies or videos offline.
Lost Functionality Renders Current Version Useless
I can no longer export files from Bitport to VLC either by streaming or downloading. This feature was the main reason I enjoyed using this app. I don’t know if the problem is with the Bitport app or VLC for iOS but I can no longer use this app in the way that worked best for me.
