Good for small combats
If there are only a few combatants this works really well. But if you end up with a party of 5 and the more than 3 or 4 monsters the app crashes and you have to start over again. REALLY frustrating
Yes, Bix's Fine DM Tools is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Not enough reviews to make a reliable assessment. The app needs more user feedback.

This app is really useful for keeping track of many monsters and npcs when I don't have time to roll for every encounter. It helps make combat snappy, and tracking conditions easy
The interface for this app is super clear and I like really like that. Just load this up with your players for the session and the various monsters they could encounter and then you can run an encounter at any time by choosing a subset of either of those lists! There are two big things I would change: one is being able to add a combatant mid fight without losing any data. And the second is changing combat so that proceeding from one turn to the other doesn’t move the character icons around, it just moves the active turn highlight to the next character (it’s a lot easier to find an NPC to manage HP if the list isn’t moving around, moving the character who’s turn just finished to the end of the list looks cool but is more confusing in practice)
Please make more apps like this one. Simple, easy to use, and actually works!
Like the previous poster said, this app would easily be five stars if a few things were added. Carryover health from one fight to the other, clarity over which condition is which, and my suggestion would be to be able switch up initiative in the middle of battle. This is helpful when a player decides to “delay” his turn. Currently you can switch up initiative, but it resets the fight. Also, the ability to add monsters and PCs into a currently running fight (reinforcements style). Otherwise, this app is the best of its kind! Simple, fast, elegant. Nearly perfect! But troublesome enough to make me question using it in a real game until those features are added. Can’t wait until the are! *fingers crossed*
This app is one of my favorite to keep track of player health and initiative! It is easy to set up, requiring only HP, AC, and Dex to run. It allows you to easily roll for Monster Initiative and keep track of player order. There is even a very well designed system to keep track of Status Effects! I have two very minor complainants that keep this app from a 5-star rating. First, health is reset between encounters, meaning if your players take damage in one room, and you set up an encounter before a short rest is taken, their HP in the app jumps to full. This means you either have to keep track of HP outside of the app to keep it updated, or add a bunch of Monsters to an encounter and skip those you don’t want to use right away. Second, the beautiful status effect cards don’t have any indication of what status they convey. Some are easy to determine, such as poison or restrained, but others are not. A simple legend or name on the card would help keep track easier.
Used it for the first time today and it kept crashing on me. Worked first time but then a no go. Great concept but still not working correctly.
I imputed my first PC, but all his info then became the defat Bix character.
