block.a - Rental App

Thanks to Block a and their amazing team I found the apartment that I was looking for! Super fast and easy process, best way to look for an apartment

Directed to download this app for scheduling for an apt listed by a separate broker. App didn’t even work for scheduling and requested location data, phone number, email, and name. Don’t be fooled

Drove 1 hr to see an apartment. Leasing office told us to download this to get the key to your the apartment. The app forces us to verify by uploading an ID but the buttons don’t send a photo doesn’t work.

Wouldn’t let me look at an apartment until I scanned my drivers license. After I begrudgingly gave them my info to potentially steal or lose someday, the apartment changed from available to view to “waitlist” I’m still not convinced this isn’t a scam to steal drivers licenses. Fake 5-star reviews are cheap to buy these days.

After I upload my driver license, it tells me to wait until it is verified, but later it signs me out and ask me to create a new account to login. Does it steal my ID?

The ID verification offers two options: 1) driver license or 2) passport. The process consists of two steps: 1) selfie, 2) scanning the document. Neither path allows uploading a copy of ID. Whatever the reason for this, it’s annoying. Context: Wanted to schedule a viewing, and the broker sent a link to this app. Proceeded to registration and verification, but the process halted because of the aforementioned. Although I don’t carry a physical copy of the passport, always have a scanned copy on my phone.

The Block.a app is the reason that I found my current apartment after months of searching and bad luck. It made the apartment search super easy and convenient, mainly due to the self-touring feature that it offers. Block.a helps you to connect with listing agents immediately. I would recommend this app to anyone searching for apartments in New York!

Didn’t need a broker to see the house. App is user friendly. See the apartment at operating hours. It made my buying process seemless

I was anxious about relying on an app to work through the apartment viewing/application process - sometimes technology causes more problems than it solves. However, this was super easy to use. Very clear directions, easy to use interface and offered exactly what I needed and then some!
