App finally working and connecting to wifi and iPhone
I had some initial issues related to the Klima hardware device that serves as a remote control for unintelligent heaters and air conditioners and the app. Troubleshooting with Boldr support identified the issue and provided an update. The app, the Klima, and the Alexa integration work perfectly now. The most impressive aspect of this resolution is how quickly the company escalated the issue to not only developers but to those who had the ability to direct development attention to the issue. This is very uncommon in my experience and transformed a frustrating user experience into a delightful one. As a result, I can easily recommend this App and the Klima hardware especially to renters like myself who live in dwellings without centrally controlled HVAC.
Our Mini Splits were installed by the previous owner in 2019. We rely on these units for cooling, heating and dehumidifying our home. For heating they are a supplement to our oil hot water boiler. With the fluctuation in home heating oil costs managing our mini splits better and remotely during the winter can be a huge savings. The integration of Klima to our mini splits finally gives us the chance. I can now monitor the home temperature when we’re away, lower my oil heat thermostats and use the mini splits to adjust the temperature. Getting the home warm before we arrive will make my wife very happy. When I saw the ad on FaceBook I was skeptical but curious. The curiosity lead me to do more research and the research lead me to give it a try. At 72 years old I consider myself tech capable and love to learn new. I have Google Home supporting our WiFi mesh network and managing multiple devices. Installing Klima was easy and straightforward. Within less than 20 minutes we were fully operational controlling our 18,000 BTU unit the drives the majority of our cooling and heating needs. Our other mini splits are in bedrooms and don’t need remote management. The instructions were very good and the installation and set up were a breeze. The App does what I need so well that I don’t need to bother integrating it into my Google Home app. I ordered directly through Boldr because the price was much better than Amazon. Delivery was not Amazon Prime fast but still fast especially when coming from Lithuania. I don’t give many 5 Star reviews but Klima earned it this time.
I needed the unit to use the high setting for the fan. They went beyond the call of duty to fulfill my request. Actually the did a FaceTime call with me to fulfill my request
The recent update to fix a rounding problem with F deg units did not go far enough. The setpoints for the Klima product are only allowed to be in F deg units that are equivalent to integer units of C deg. Thus, you do not have continuous integer setpoints for F deg. You are missing some integer F deg setpoints. Who does that? Also the schedule portion of the app is very restrictive. You are forced to use 6 setpoint windows. So the app will send out 6 control setpoints a day, whether you want it to or not. I would prefer to decide my own the number of desired setpoint windows. Example - I have a room that is occasionally used. When a person goes in, they set their desired room temperature. When they are leave, they cut back the room control temp. I just want one setpoint send out a day in the evening to cut back the room in the event the person using the room that day forgot to cut back the temperature setpoint when they left. This simple task can not be properly done with this app’s scheduling.
In principle, this is a really simple unit. That said the setup is and operation seems unnecessarily complicated. I get one working and then I add a second to another room and the first one stopped working. App interface is simple, but again once second Klima installed the app malfunctioned. Still working on it optimistically.
Most recent update broke the smart thermometer pairing completely. My Fara is now an overpriced paperweight without the sensor.
Terrible app and product, our electric bill has skyrocketed after buying this. I thought this was supposed to be more efficient, not true. The app won’t even connect to our wifi.
The app is so challenging to use, that the panels are frustrating to have. I wish there were a manual setting on the panels themselves because guests need to download the app in order to adjust their heat. The system glitches when I try to change the schedule and often doesn’t save changes that I want to make. Should I return these panels?
While the app may need a little more work, the customer service I’ve received from their support team has been fantastic. The issues that popped up with my order were quickly resolved. Have three units in my home and they work great in the areas I put them in. If you’re a techie, you’ll notice these units have super reliable Shelly controllers internally. Integrated them with my home automation system (Home Assistant) and they work flawlessly.
