Incredible tool
I started using the original Bone Ninja app when it launched several years ago. I wasn’t sure how they could improve the original version because it was so helpful, but there have been some great improvements. Some of the changes that I really like are (1) the ability to measure an angle between any two lines even if they do not intersect; (2) the ability to change the thickness of lines; (3) the ability to switch between a lower extremity measurement panel and a foot and ankle measurement panel to record values when analyzing a deformity. It’s a great tool if you’re just learning how to analyze deformity and plan corrections, but its also an adjunct to clinical practice for the more experienced deformity surgeon. I routinely use this app to plan out corrections and use these plans both for myself (take to the OR) and to help explain to patients and families the underlying problem and the strategy for treatment. The only downside is that there is not an android version of this tool for learners and surgeons who do not have access to an ipad.
