This app was AMAZING but after one book, neither my friend or myself can link to any shared bookclubs together
Was looking for an app to have a “book club” with a few long distance friends. I tried a few different ones, but most were set up for in-person meetings, and I just wanted to discuss books long distance and have our chats separated by book. This app has been the perfect thing. It started out as a good structured way to recommend and talk about books with a few pals, but over the past year of using it it’s had tons of improvements and now offers supplemental readings about the books, has a nicer format, lets you invite people to read in different ways, and is really nice aesthetically. It is simple and easy to use, and fulfills the exact purpose I needed it for... sharing books I love with friends, and getting to hear what they think.
The concept is great, but the app is of no use to me unless I can import my own epubs and then share them with friends. Provide this functionality and I'll return with a much better review.
BookShip is a natural way to share reading of any text. All the tools are there to communicate: photos, hyperlinks, excerpts and, of course, text. I’ve used it to read with large groups, small groups, long and difficult texts and shorter recreational reads. It makes group readings more fun and insightful.
Fun way to read a book with your friends
