Borders Buses Reviews

No real time updates of delays

FifiJoh on

United Kingdom

This app is great for buying tickets, but unfortunately it doesn’t give real time info about bus delays. We were waiting for the 51 from Edinburgh to Galashiels, we waited 30 minutes past the due time and it didn’t arrive. The 51 had disappeared from the bus stop tracker and and no bus was showing up on the map on the app. The next bus was 1 1/2 hours later (yes that’s the poor standard of public transport to the Scottish Borders), so we had to phone a friend for a lift. Some time later Borders Buses tweeted that there had been a delay in the 51 service, but we had already given up waiting. What’s the point of app for such an infrequent bus service that can’t provide real time updates on delays?

Struggling to understand why you have a single decker on nightly, on either side of 5pm, on the X62 from Edinburgh. People boarding the bus at South Bridge, the first stop after the bus station are forced to stand each week night. Can you either provide a double decker on the route in late afternoon/early evening or bring back the much loved X70.

Great wee app for tourists & travellers

Really a model of what a bus app should be. Just back from a week of travelling by three or four buses in the area every day & the app & service never let me down once. Must be a lifeline for the locals because some of those stops are in extremely bleak, exposed, remote places!

Clean tidy busses

Great service, clean tidy buses, professionally driven, almost all of your drivers are friendly and have a smile, great service, great customer service.

Wish they were more frequent from Hawick to Edinburgh. Would ask that the heating was put on especially as the windows are open for ventilation to minimise spread of Covid. Great service . Thank you drivers.

Bus stops not always updated on time

PipEmanuel91 on

Word of warning to users - Just had a bus drive past me without even braking, with the driver pointing down the road. It turns out that the observed stop (Craigmilar castle road for the X95) had been recently changed, but the app was not yet updated. Not sure why the driver didn’t show some human decency and stop for me. Then mention the stop had changed for next time. Other than that the app runs very well hence the 3 stars.

Could be fantastic

I love a good App - and this could be so useful if it always matched up to when buses are actually due!

Great but bring back the hourly service from Edinburgh to Carlisle please. Also the WiFi doesn’t work on some x95 buses. Great service xxx

Crap app - been on for nearly thirty mins and still can’t get a timetable for Berwick to Kelso service, will show me Hily Iskand and Edinburgh but not Kelso - can’t be bothered any more trying to figure it out, would rather crawl there on my hands and knees that use this useless app again
