Infeasible program

Sfchico on

United States

The entire program over complicates the process. Why pay for bags?!? Drop off sites have narrow windows of availability. I was also thinking that if it’s a hassle for me, it will not be useful for people that don’t have access to resources (e.g. pay for bag, cell). SF needs to do a better job in making it more accessible and user friendly.

Need to buy bag

Snyhcy on

United States

You have to buy their bags to recycle bottle for them. What a cheap company.

Security questions

Sf…G on

United States

Why does it need security questions? None of it’s question options I can answer or remember. No other options. Good idea wasted by poor program director.

scheme only makes “cents” during intro

Armus77 on

United States

A reasonably full bag typical nets $5 regardless of how many cans are in the bag. With introductory waivers you get $5, but coming soon you lose 40 cents for bag processing and 35 cents for ACH fee and supposed to pay 32.5 cents for each bag (8 bags for $2.60). So, they’ll keep over a dollar in fees of that $5 (so over 20%). That’s a steep convenience fee, but understable since news reports they’d spent $4 million to pay out $180K. The real winners are the stores that used to pay a $100 daily fine for not collecting cans, and that’s really what should be paying for the program (instead of tax payers).

This app doesn’t work. I can’t transfer the balance to my Venmo or bank account.

Limited time two free bags, then pay?

Dalton Pizza on

United States

“ for a limited time, a two-pack of the CRV redemption bags will be free to participants when they sign up.” Then we start paying to recycle? Even though we do all the work and transportation ourselves? This is overly complicated, unnecessary for an app to be needed.
