Bridge Mentor Reviews

Good app, repeatedly does not connect to App Store

Erspamer on

This is fundamentally a good app. Plays bridge pretty well. My biggest gripe is that it repeatedly will not connect to the App Store and verify subscription. I have tried rebooting my phone. No joy. It is annoying to have this app not work when you want it to.

Bids without thought…

The bidding uses too many different conventions and often confuses itself as well as me. And then my partner takes my tricks like I’m on a different team…

Fascinating, considerable learning opportunities.

Excellent for re-evaluating my bidding skills. Good to have the chance to re-play a hand and improve the score. Love every moment! Enjoy seeing how others play, bid and try to beat them.

Bridge Mentor delivers

I’ve been playing Bridge Mentor for the past four months and am really enjoying it. I probably play 40 hands a week; and have found the app reliable and operates smoothly (I’m on an IPad). I recently subscribed to the monthly subscription service; and can now participate in the competition mode… and now unlimited hands in the practice bidding and card play mode. A helpful new feature is the ability to replay a hand in competition mode; but I can bid it differently. Nice! I get to see how others competition players bid and if they made their bid. This helps me improve my bidding and play —certainly elevates my game. Since I first started playing Bridge Mentor, I’ve noticed several tweaks that improve the visuals when reviewing a hand; and tweaks on card play logic. Definitely recommend.

Fun game

It works most of the time.

Keeps freezing up

Junebug653 on

I love this game but about every 6-7 games the screen freezes and I have to delete from phone and redownload. Just when I get a good hand. One more thing. If I were bidding with a human partner we would not jump to game, even when we should have the points, until we have had more of a bidding conversation. The lack of these intermediate bids prevents me from getting more information about my partners bid and perhaps exploring a baby or grand slam. Those intermediate steps need to be written into the game. What if I bid a five card suit, my partner raises me one but I want a better picture of their hand. I want to be able to bid my four card suit and go back to the five card suit to first tell my partner that I have five cards in this suit and allows them to pass or raise. Also there seems to be little provision for Blackwood etc. Please, please make the bidding process allow for more complexity and thus more accurate bidding. On the good side this is the best Bridge app I have found! Please fix the freeze and allow for more complete bidding, thank you

Really good game. Plays very well I like it.

An excellent Bridge app. Very easy to use. Explanations are available allowing the user to better understand rationale for bidding and card play.

Great app for learning to play bridge

Very dissatisfied

Brad1951 on

Can not figure out how to use. The screens are so small it takes a magnifying glass to see them. I emailed for help but have heard from no one. I would not recommend to get this unless someone helps you to use it. They need to give better instructions. And a big word to the wise they tell you how much it cost before elect to get the subscription. Very deceptive. Not pleased at all.
