Brili Routines – Visual Time‪r

This app is amazing. Intially I used it for myself (before there was an adults version) to help me get my kids, which were infants at the time, get ready for pre-school. Now that my kids are in primary school we use it on a daily basis to help them get through their morning routine. It's the only consistent way I found to get my (not yet diagnosed) ADHD kids to be ready for school on time, together and without stress or shouting. They are absolutely devoted to competing their tasks, gathering stars and earning rewards (a McDonald's meal works best)! Thank you brilliant Brili people!!

This keeps my adhd 3rd grader on track. She uses it every morning and has time to spare before school. It gives her a sense of independence because I no longer have to ask her every few minutes if she’s staying on track. I wish I had discovered this app when we had to homeschool during Covid.

I use this for me to make sure I don't skip steps even when tired or unmotivated. However the UX is difficult. I wish you could search the built in routine options or go back if the item you selected wasn't what you were looking for. no watch support

Not child friendly

I LOVE this app and use it every day. One of my favorite features is the voice notification letting you know how much time is left and then telling you the next task to complete. If the adult app was as interesting and stimulating as the kids app, I’d use that app instead. The adult app doesn’t have these features, so I’ll keep using the kids app for now!

1. A tutorial section with basic instructions and features would help so much, and would increase accessibility. Maybe it’s just me but I find it kind of hard to use sometimes. 2. Can you add a stopwatch feature and a way to save specific tasks with notes? I need to change my morning routine daily depending on what’s going on, so being able to find the average amount of time it takes to complete a task and a way to save those tasks so I can pre-build a routine before bed would be IDEAL. I would be able to sleep so much better knowing that I have a plan.

It was easy to cheat and get the rewards

Quite good, although lately one of my routines (I use it for myself) is completely buggy and keeps saying I’m late for my routine. No matter how many times I try to reset it. Makes the app completely unusable. I think my other routines are unaffected so maybe I’ll just have to make a new one. also one of the biggest drawbacks is that the sound and the app completely interrupts and takes over my audio, so I have to go back and forth between the app and the podcast or audiobook and restart it every time there is a new task. Can you make it so i still hear the bell, but my other audio apps aren’t disrupted? As ADHDers we need something to listen to to make the mundane tasks less boring.

Here’s the real real. Mornings can be haaaaard. My kids are 7 & 9, and last school year felt like I was a never-ending record telling them what to do as if they didn’t have to eat breakfast, get dressed, brush teeth, etc. every.single.day. Honestly, I haven’t been looking forward to the morning hustle starting up again. No parent or kid likes starting the morning frustrated. Enter Brili. I’m telling you, this has been a game👏🏼 changer 👏🏼 in our house. You, as the parent, create a list of everything they need to do, the order they need to do them, and how long you want to give them to complete each task. You set the desired end time, and the app calculates the start time based on the time needed to do each task. (You can also see how long it actually took and adjust as needed.) They access their routine on a device and I can see what step they are on from my parent view on my phone. Morning routines that used to take my kids over an hour to complete (and included countless reminders and too much frustration, only to be grabbing things and running out the door to beat the tardy bell) are now finished in less than 30 min. with plenty of extra "play time" as their reward. It's like a game for them racing against the clock. They earn stars and you as the parent can choose whether they are working to earn something with those stars or not. I have also set up a bedtime routine, and they were in bed reading 15 min before lights out because I wasn't telling them to brush their teeth 67 times. 🙄 Maybe you can't relate and your kids know how to get ready and don't need reminders (ha!). Maybe you don't think it will work. I was skeptical because we had lists for them to check off on the fridge all last year. But this is different. If you find yourself feeling like a bad parent because of the mornings in your house, TRY THIS. It's free (but I'd totally be willing to pay for this). And if it doesn't help you've lost nothing.
