Being able to alter power settings, turn modelling on and off and fire off the test flash are all very handy features to have when a light is set up and hard to reach. Occasionally reconnecting to the strobes (after locking your phone or it going to sleep) can take a while and it can be just quicker to walk over and manually adjust the setting.
When moving into landscape mode, the app has right part of screen empty , while you need to scroll up down and left right, on the menu items on the left side. Freemask/alternate seems only have one role for each strobe, and cannot do 1&2,1,2, and repeat that sequence. Getting things I want with this app requires many clicks which makes go to each light to adjust on the light themselves more intuitive and efficient. Sony and Broncolor won the worst ui design of the century
the iOS version lost connection after each minute, the MAC version simply won't show anything in its interface.
I just recently had to purchase a new iPhone and when I had to download the BronControl app again, this is when I began to experience problems with the app consistently dropping connection to the assigned studio….and it won’t reconnect until I delete the app and download it again from the AppStore. Something has to be done about this!! I’ve gotten no information regarding a new firmware update. What’s going on??

Operating manual has NO troubleshooting page, I am serious! Now it seems that I am going to have to deal with Mac Group 😩I guess they bought BRONCOLOR or Bron gave up on troubleshooting... So the Mac Group is made of a bunch of incompetent tech support, dealing with lots of companies and all their products, so probably well over 100,000.00 products maybe much more so you can imagine a small group of frustrated people unnumbered and unqualified - Can someone give me a rope please...
Most up-to-date version complains, asking to be updated to "real version" of the app—uhhh, ok? The app also says to update my Siros for full functionality — but their firmware is current as well. Displays wrong lamp numbers, applies settings to wrong lamps. App hasnt been updated in 3 years. Would be GREAT for control, but doesnt work as intended, so it's quicker to make adjustments by hand in studio. PLEASE update. (Ill revisit the rating then.)
