BTECH GMRS Programmer Reviews

Simple. Does what it's supposed to.

Rsftomb on

United States

I give it 5 stars because it works, doesn't seem to have ads and isn't glitchy. It's super basic to the radios functions, it's not pretty but the UI is easy to understand so long as you can dress yourself and does what it's supposed to reliably. Makes programming channel groups much easier.

Insanely difficult to understand and operate with more than one radio

Junk. Ooo on

United States

This radio is pretty much for talking only like a cheap frs. All of the other features are ridiculously difficult to operate requiring tons of key presses and menus to navigate. The radios do what they advertise but are not practical for any average user other than press the button and talk. Good luck.

Misleading Link Be Aware

Bliss Ranch on

United States

I downloaded the app and was taken to a page that requested me to create an account with APRS. I created an account and it took me to APRS.com. That is a job company and has nothing to do with A BTech GMRS radio. Once an account is created there is no way to delete it. So beware before clicking on Join Network Channel.

Not the same as the android version

Strangely the iOS version is limited where you can not manually enter a tx freq and can only select from a list of predefined values. The android version is not limited by this.

Great radio, good app, poor manual

Moznyati on

United States

I’m an IT guy and know how most things get done. The app should be accompanied by a manual that is a step by step how to. I’ve had to fiddle with it to guess how to get things the way I want. For example, no where are you told how to get the radio to send a text message. The manual says you can, but not how. Also, no where are you told you must program a button to initiate a call tone. Also, Btech tech support emails will only refer you to a page in the manual that says something can be done, but not how to get it done, or whether a menu image is on the radio or the app.

Not on par with android

Chillzen on

United States

The app doesn’t have nearly as many features as the android app has. Which makes communicating with someone else using the android platform extremely difficult. Please update the app to have the same features on both platforms.

Awesome radio with a great app almost.

RBMWIV on

United States

I have both iOS and Android devices and I use the android version more often than the iOS version because of the extra features on that platform. Please bring those features to the iOS. I definitely prefer iOS for everything but this app I use an android most of the time. Thanks for reading my review.

More maps needed for iOS

Love the radio, love the program. I find it very frustrating that my friends using an android have access to onX maps. While iPhone users do not. Please fix this. We both
