Bublup

I’ve been using it for just a few weeks. Now, I’m looking to shift more files to it. It’s close to perfect. 2023 Update: Years later. I now recommend it to everyone. I use it almost everyday. It has become the centerpiece for my estate planning, business consulting, hobby, and support for my caregivers sharing group. The product has improved immensely in a very short time. Never thought I could actually said, “I love it!” 2024 update: Just upgraded to Pro. More AI creator sessions and 10x storage. Getting ready to present Bublup to the entire computer club membership. Bublup simply makes my life better and my work more efficient. 1-2025 340GB in storage. Turned-on daily backups. This is getting serious. I can’t do a project without Bublup. I find I’m using AI, and Google Docs/Sheets daily. The tight integration is fantastic. At 79, I’m always looking for ways to save a minute.

If you gather your data here apparently they feel it is ok to just delete your data without notice. 🤷‍♀️ May want to export and backup your data. They claim they would have sent a notification… I have notification they were moving to a paid app but no notification of my account and data at risk of being deleted.

Good App. Expensive for average household 🥲

I love the visual tiles , how you can add web links, photos, PDFs, notes, etc. But the reason I use this is because I can make a note (I’ll comment on my own) to add context to whatever I saved. No other app does this to my knowledge. The only downside is, the app is waaaay overpriced. Really it should cost 1/3 of what I pay. One star demoted due to cost.

Way to shoot yourselves in the foot, Bublup. As of December 1, 2023, Bublup is ending free use & accounts and is moving to a PAID-ONLY subscription model. Their STARTING price for basic use is $7.99/month. That’s a jarring, steep price point to be starting at. It seems like a gamble to do so, especially smack in the middle of steep inflation. It’s not just that I can’t afford that price, it’s that I can’t *justify* paying that much for an app. They’re asking $7.99 per month to use what’s been a free app for years. That’s $96+ a year if paid monthly, or a discounted amount (around $70 to $80+) if paid annually upfront. I’ve got no issue with paying for a good app to support devs and get something valuable in return, such as an ad-free experience. But $7.99+ per month is a DEALBREAKER. Had they eased into paid accounts with a less jarring price point, or asked a one-time fee instead of a subscription (or perhaps grandfathered in long time users at a more reasonable price) I WOULD have stayed. Instead, I moved all my stuff to the Raindrop app, which charges $2.99/month for the ad-free version, and deleted my Bublup account. $2.99/ month is a *reasonable* price for what’s offered and I’m happy to pay it to support the devs and be ad-free. I’ve enjoyed the app for a few years as a great visually appealing way to save and organize all kinds of content. I’ll miss it, but not enough to pay that much. I’m disappointed the devs chose to make this app out of reach for so many users and chose to do so in a relatively short time frame.

Great organizational app to save & share folders with links & folders

I’ve tried dozens of different apps over the years to try to organize all the various articles, links, videos etc that were scattered across several devices, my phone and email addresses. None of them worked for me as well as Bublup. As an artist, the visual boards I can organize however I want seem to help me a lot. Wasn’t thrilled when the free version went away but I liked and used it enough to pay for the subscription and consider it an important part of my creative and small business process.

It made my update to use it and now all the recipes I had saved were gone and all the ones shared with me says they aren’t shared so it’s useless now
