How much does Buddhadharma cost?
Buddhadharma has several in-app purchases/subscriptions, the average in-app price is 69.20 kr.
I love reading Buddhadharma on my tablet, because it gives me peace. I am living in a Christian based halfway house. Getting printed Buddhist material here would become suspect. This allows me to gain peace that is portable whether it’s on the bus, at bedtime, or as a meditative component; and can be strong addendum to Abrahamic studies. The writing is lucid, contemplative and inclusive.
Previous (2017) purchases are gone with update.
The app updated a few months ago and I am no longer able to retrieve any of my previous purchases from 2017 or earlier. I contacted the developer and did all the recommended procedures and they basically said “oh well, contact the publisher.” I have all my Apple receipts, but I’m not sure how this will help. Lion’s Roar Foundation should be aware they have a developer who may be ‘nonattached’ to their responsibility to resolve technical issues : ) It’s a good magazine, but be aware if you don’t read them promptly, you may lose them, permanently, unless impermanence means I might get them back someday...
Past purchases are gone
While I understand the concept of impermanence, I would still like the issue I bought back in 2014 to be available. Only goes back to 2015.
Great app with lots of great content!
This app provides lots of great content that helps you maintain and think about your practice in your daily life.
Won't download on new iPad
Trying to add magazine to a new iPad and all I get is "fetching data"...... For half an hour???
I've had no other troubles before. Was there an update? Maybe there should be.
When I can read it Buddahdharma Journal is wonderful! Please fix asap.
Love it, but...
I adore this magazine. Great articles that really help me stay on my path. However, I would like to see highlighting capability and the ability to snip and share parts of articles like Mother Earth News.
Excellent overall
The magazine I have loved for a long time. A while back I had the same issues as others, but that has been fixed. So delightful to read on the iPad rather than carry a paper magazine around. Nicely done.
Doesn't download
I have been downloading the same issue for a month. I have 40 pages and the rest are still downloading.
This one takes patience
I was ready to give this one star and walk away -- maybe even try to nag the seller into giving me a refund for this and Shambhala Sun. But instead, I spent five or six hours over two days installing and deleting the app...and then waiting. Last night, the app sat on the splash screen for darn near 20 minutes, and then it worked. And now I love it. Once Buddhadharma was installed, then Shambhala Sun installed as well (after a 10 minute wait at the splash screen). Perhaps it's appropriate, given the magazine, but patience was key to getting it to work. That doesn't say much for the platform...would give it five stars if it wouldn't have taken so many hours to get it to work (on a brand new, WiFi-connected iPad mini w/ a verified working 20Mbps connection).
Crashing issue fixed
Following up with my previous 2 star review to acknowledge that the issue has been fixed and the app now works as promised. 4 stars.
I can now see the magazine issues I have purchased and the page turning animations makes you feel like you are reading the actual magazine.
