Butler's Lives of the Saints

An audiobook of the Benziger Brothers 1878 edition of the famous Alban Butler's “Lives of the Saints” that contains short biographies of the saint(s) for each day, followed by a reflection for each entry. Will work on your iPad as well as your iPhone (see instructions below).
This imprimatur edition was widely used by American Catholics at the turn of the 20th century, and remains easily accessible to this day. This work, of course, follows the old Universal Roman Liturgical Calendar, so it contains many saints that were replaced on the new Universal Roman Liturgical Calendar in 1960. But many remained on the new calendar as well. We have included a section in this app that lists all the saints in Butler’s work from the old calendar that are included in the new Roman calendar and their new calendar date (if any). Enjoy listening to these wonderful biographies of the saints any time of the year for spiritual growth and encouragement.
