Great app.
As of may 2024 byword will not sync with Dropbox anymore. Totally love this app but it hasn’t been updated in at least 4 years and my be on its last legs. I get Dropbox token errors nearly everyday.

Seems to still work well but I am seeing the occasional delayed sync. I don’t need any more features but am curious if it would be fixed if it broke with a system update
It is (was?) one of the best with ia Writer. But it does not seem to be in development anymore. What a shame.
It was great in the mac and it's great on the iPhone.
Byword is a good, clean app that supports Markdown . It does not have the fancy organizational abilities of Scrivener or Ulysses. But, with the publishing options available for all users now, it is an excellent application to write a quick, short blog post in a focused writing environment.
…there doesn't seem to be any way to change the styles used in Markdown preview / PDF output. Also not really seeing this app's niche versus more versatile competitors.
ByWord is the best text editor/ markdown editor in my stable of editors. I sync it with DropBox, which allows interchanging with ATOM, and Ulysses.
I've tried so many, but this is the app I keep launching and creating documents in. Markdown is definitely well suited to tablet composition, and this app delivers a fluid, unobtrusive user experience that' she perfect complement. I hope the developers are still active. I'd love to see quicker switching to Markdown preview. At the moment it's two touches to get there. Side-by-side viewing might be too much to ask for, but the devs should look to MarkdownPad on the PC for an example. Strongly recommend picking this app up.
Strictly US language?? My iOS keyboard is Canadian but in Byword Canadian spellings are marked as errors. Too bad. I like this app until now.
Love the new features, but even without them, ByWord rocks.
