The Story of Caddieapp:
Several years ago while playing a new course, Doug, the creator of Caddieapp, faced a challenge. He was using a popular golf app on his Apple Watch, but it wasn't working as he expected. The app showed distances based on where his phone was (in his bag on the golf cart), not where he actually was. To make things worse, the app didn't show course maps on his watch, forcing him to frequently check his phone to get distances to water hazards and bunkers.
This frustration sparked an idea. Why not develop an app specifically for the Apple Watch that didn't need the phone at all?"
Doug set to work during the off-season, tackling challenges posed by the watch's small screen and limited battery. As the app started to come together, his focus shifted towards ease of use. He spent most of that winter testing prototypes on the snow-covered golf courses of Western New York, ensuring the app was as user-friendly as it was functional.
That Spring, Caddieapp was born, a practical alternative to dedicated golf watches and costly subscription-based apps, leveraging the capabilities of the Apple Watch that many golfers already own.
Don’t have an Apple Watch yet? Or you forgot it at home? Not a problem! Caddieapp works on your iPhone too. It’s basically a super-sized version of the Apple Watch app.
