Description

CANCERAID IS YOUR DIGITAL CHAMPION
Feeling disorganised, confused, isolated or overwhelmed by a cancer diagnosis? You are not alone.
CancerAid was founded by two oncologists to assist you in managing cancer. This app is designed to help you take control over physical and psychological side effects from the moment of diagnosis, through treatment and during recovery.
The app lets you keep track of your diagnostic and treatment information, access medically reliable information to learn more about your condition, track and manage your side effects, nominate your care team and gain access to a motivational community, all in one place.
Use the app in the comfort of your own home, in the waiting room or out and about. CancerAid is available when you need it the most, anywhere and anytime.
“I find myself referring back to the CancerAid app to do what it takes to have a better understanding of all these body changes and feels.” Rosemary, patient in remission
Be Better Equipped to Discuss Side Effects with Your Doctor
It’s ok not to be ok. The CancerAid app makes it easy to record and monitor symptoms and medication use over time. We understand that it's not always possible to log symptoms when they occur so we have made it possible to track in real-time and retrospectively.
Research has shown that patients who record their symptoms and share these with their clinical care team experience improved outcomes.
If you are not experiencing any side effects or symptoms, great! Let your care team know that you are feeling well by entering a low severity in the app. Logging your wellness regularly is as important as logging your symptoms, and helps physicians make decisions on your treatment.
“The CancerAid app was the one place I wrote down all my symptoms and how I felt. Since I always have my phone with me it saved me from having to remember every fortnight what I needed to say to my oncologist.” - Kerry, cancer survivor
This app integrates with Apple’s HealthKit and CareKit allowing you to make your activity visible to your medical care team at connected hospitals.
Share Information with All Your Loved Ones at Once
Who’s in your corner? You can nominate your care team and loved ones with the Champion feature to keep them in the loop of how you are going. In your CancerAid journal, you can share your experiences and milestones in a secure place available to you and your nominated Champions.
“A lot of people are separated by distance from someone they love who is going through cancer. Champions is a great feature that allows us to keep track of treatment and prognosis.” - Zelda and Jeremy, mom and son
Support for Caregivers
Cancer is not a one man disease, and CancerAid recognises that caregivers also need useful tools and support through the cancer timeline. If you are caring for someone affected by cancer you can request to follow their progress in the app so that you know when they need you the most.
The app is filled with resources for caregivers. The in-app community lets you read other carer’s tips and experiences, the cancer profile holds information on specific cancer types, treatments and what to expect from them.
“I am very impressed with the information, care and support available in CancerAid. I can’t thank you enough for helping my husband” - Sarah, caregiver
A Trusted Cancer Resources
CancerAid is endorsed by leading Cancer Hospitals, Health Insurance Providers, and Cancer Charities. CancerAid has been awarded Best Startup Creating Social Impact by Sir Richard Branson of Virgin Group and Best Global Startup by Steve Wozniak, Co-Founder of Apple.
The app has been highlighted as a flagship health app by Apple and has been featured by Shark Tank Australia, TechCrunch, CNBC and The Huffington Post.
“I love the platform for both patients and oncologists alike, and the passion and competence of the founders blows me away” - Andrew Banks (Shark Tank investor)

Poor interface

Can't recommend this app. Had regular issues making entries and saving them. Would not work accross ipad & iphone. Lost several weeks of symptom and journal entries.

Great but needs two tweaks

This is a great app, but it looks like we can’t add symptoms ahead of time or diarise appointments ahead of time? Also, as a close friend of someone who has cancer, they are listed as one of my heroes in this app. I find it strange that I don’t get notified when my hero adds something, my hero has also noticed that they can’t add symptoms ahead of time. This is a great app, but without these two things, it’s somewhat cumbersome to use.

Journal Date Picker

We are 6 months into a cancer journey and have just found out about this app. I’m trying to set up the app and input past data into it so that we can look at it historically. One of the issues we have is JOURNAL ENTRIES obviously we need to back date in order to make this feature useful in a historical nature. ISSUE: You can only create a journal entry on the current date. Does not let you back date entries. PROPOSED SOLUTION: ‘Enable Date Picker’ for journal entries past, current and future. BENEFITS: Ability to back date journal entries especially if your a new user and you X Days/Months into the journey. Enable the customer to create a historical view as they may not start using this app on day 1. Please add this feature as soon as possible, without it I’m not sure this app is right for us.

Excellent App

My sister was diagnosed with Breast Cancer and lives in North Queensland. She had her surgery at Chris O’Brien LIfehouse as I live in Sydney. As her champion, this app enables me to see her daily symptoms which is very helpful. We speak everyday by phone or text however I was probably only hearing half of her symptoms. This is also a great tool for Dr’s appointments as you often forget important information. The Survivorship stories are invaluable as they validate your own thoughts and emotions. Thank you so much for your proactive approach to help manage our journey and in the process give us a better quality of life. Highly Recommended.

A wonderful, wholistic app

I love the journal component! I’m a big fan of being able to ‘get it out’, whatever that may be. Having a dedicated space to dump all your thoughts frees up space in your brain and heart for more useful, productive things!

Best THING ever to be made available to cancer patients

Pink Collar on

Being in the recruitment industry, I recruit a lot of medical staff for Cancer care providers. This is the BEST app I have seen for helping lighten the load on patients and their families during a time that is so stressful that remembering to buy milk is a challenge! Let alone trying to remember everything about your treatment. I can’t recommend this APP enough.

Pointless

Can’t even see specialists in my area, way better to do a google search. Don’t bother downloading. Waste

I am 4 years cancer free Double mastectomy chemotherapy radiation hysterectomy and left with horrendous nerve pain that has crippled me and basically knocked the wind out of me As a paitent I never found any cancer group helpful The whole time I found concentrating on distracting myself with keeping busy and go as more in deep breathing meditation and yoga deep water running and hydrotherapy Being treated also by a physiotherapist I also fostered rescue dogs to help me get out of bed and not cry all day in pain All you want to do is what works the best for you which is taking care of your pain and joints I found getting involved in cancer groups or getting dressed in pink to do fun runs for charity is just time taken away from rehabilitation Your whole world is getting back to being strong

Great app

As a doctor, I know that the journey from cancer diagnosis to treatment is a complex one, and I find that this app has a useful place helping people through that journey. It has lots of useful, relevant and easy to understand information. Highly recommended
