Canon Digital Photo Professional Express (Canon DPP Express) is an iPad/iPhone application to color edit RAW images with intuitive touch operation to be converted to JPEG file afterwards.
To continue using all Digital Photo Professional Express features, you must complete the (paid) subscription process.
Once you subscribe,

*HEIF (10-bit) files and RAW images shot with [HDR PQ settings] enabled can be imported using linked mode with the Canon camera app Canon Camera Connect (However, RAW images shot with [HDR PQ settings] enanled are developed with HDR PQ disabled).
*RAW burst files cannot be imported to smart devices. Extract the CR3 images from the RAW burst file in advance on the camera side, and then import them to the smart device.

Why, WHY?
Why hasn’t Canon allowed for us to export/download the edited RAW files together with the resulting JPGs to a PC/MAC?
Like you do when sharing files via Itunes, for instance, or via the Files app and any Remote Desktop / file transfer program.
The last solution would have been practical for sending your files home, in case you run out of space on your iPad when you are in the field. Or traveling and have spare time on the airplane, hotel or othervise, because Canon DPP is really nice to edit your RAW files, most people aren’t aware how good the colours are on the newer iPad screens.
But no - Canon hasn’t even accepted Files to have access to the edited RAW files so you can send your finished work back to your home computer for example by transferring them via TeamViewer or any other Remote Desktop app. You can export the RAW-files but the app clearly states that you will loose your work on them. 🤯
When you are in the field with this otherwise nice app, your work with the RAW-files, simply get locked in the iPad, and you would have had to redo it on a PC, because Canon don’t let you keep your own work to proceed with it on your own PC/MAC. What gives?
I have canceled my subscription because of this stupid artificial limitation. Why? WHY? 🙄

I’ve bought 3 of your cameras and several lenses over the last 10 years.This app is ONLY for Canon RAW.
I already have an iPad, and I would have appreciated if this was complimentary as a customer.
I rather went out and bought a laptop and DXO Photolab instead of paying your subscription for this.
I was going to buy a full frame from you.
But between your questionable tactics of suing 3rd party lens manufacturers, limiting my choices just to try create a monopoly, and your petty penny pinching, I’ve had it.
I went to another brand, you have successfully turned away a loyal customer.
The app has a major bug
The processed raw files from the app, which sucesscully can be imported wirelessly from the camera, are not visible in iTunes file sharing, thus cannot be exported back to PC/Mac to be stored permanently there.
Even more strange is that raw files can be uploaded via iTunes file sharing to Canon DPP Express, however the files are not visible in the app. They can be redownloaded through the file sharing in ITunes, though, however not be neither processed or deleted, and will just waste disk space. Deleting and redownloading the app would of course clear the disk space, however the processed raw files already downloaded wirelessly from camera would be lost.
This must be fixed or the app is very crippled, limited to only process selected files for sharing via the jpg format via the camera roll, however we would want to save the finished raw files, to PC/MAC, too!

You sell enough cameras, I have bought 3, asking a subscription is just petty.
You can keep your app, I’ll rather use my laptop.

Shouldn’t this be free. I have already payed a lot for the Canon camera. This app should be included free. This is very disturbing behaviour of Canon. No way I am going to pay for this ! What’s next. Subscription for DDP desktop ???

Who the ... came up with the idea of making this a paid app?
First, get basic features such as import from wherever you want and export to wherever you want in any format you want in order.
Second, this is a Canon tool, for canon photographers, who already paid Canon lots of money ($15000+++ in my instance)
And now you want me to pay for this?
I don’t even know why I’m complaining, I never used the app really, and now that we have Lightroom on the Ipad and hopefully CaptureOne in the future why would we even need this. It’s just mind blowing that someone at Canon thought this was a good idea.
