Description

The official CapMetro App offers public transportation riders in Austin and surrounding areas trip-planning tools, fare purchasing, real-time departure information, service alerts, schedules and maps and other great features that make riding easy. Our latest update includes a virtual card called AMP that provides riders the savings of a daily or monthly pass without paying the full cost up-front.
Not sure how to get there? Whether you're at home or on transit, just pull up the app to access the Trip Planner and easily buy passes.

This app requires iOS 11 or higher. We recommend using iOS 12 to take advantage of all the app features.

App Features:
- Buy tickets for Bus and Rail services. Eligible customers can also use CapMetro Access and Reduced Fares*.
- The Trip Planner feature plans a customized itinerary based on your starting and ending locations. It also displays real-time information for select CapMetro services. Save your favorite trips for easier planning.
- Create, manage and use your AMP card to enjoy daily and monthly fare capping on Bus & Rail.
- Check schedules for all routes in the system.
- View Route Maps by service and route number.
- Use the Next Departure feature to find the next bus near your location.
- Report a safety concern

Opened the app for the first time and it asked for a review.

This company hates its riders

The first metro service I rode that blatantly shows their riders that their only concern is the college campus and huge companies that come to Austin. And if you don't like it their drivers will bully you‼️ fall asleep an miss a stop❓ driver will bully you‼️ look like a bum or NoT white or corporate❓driver will bully you‼️

Useless

leomarquezzz on

The app is basically useless. Every estimate is wrong and some buses don’t even bother showing up.

Terrible App

Dordin on

As a systems architect / analyst, who regularly has engagements with large clients to collect feedback and customer experience to improve tools / apps, this is by far the worst design I’ve seen in a long time. App is not intuitive, clunky and downright unusable. The poor staff on the trains have to do customer support and they only learn the app through passengers teaching them. I’d suggest you put yourself in the end user shoes and revamp the entire app from the customer eyes and not the developers. Don’t use “jargon” only known by CapMETRO, use everyday vocabulary such as bus only, train only.

Good for payment; terrible to plan trip

If you want to see when your bus arrives next, where different routes go, avoid this app as it is only endlessly frustrating to the infrequent and casual rider. It may be built well for the seasoned user but that’s not me

I love the trip planner, but paying with the app is extremely confusing.

Broken, again, but what’s new with Austin

NereidGarza on

As expected, I can’t even log in. These developers don’t understand that people who rely on this app don’t have a car (you think even a kid would realize but no). They somehow cannot comprehend that we need this app to ride a public bus. We do not have ATMs just scattered around our neighborhoods for cash, so we do NEED this app. Do you think the developers even have degrees? You’d think a developer from Austin (home of UT) would know how to make a functioning app but I guess that’s too high a bar for these coders. Shame. Lyfts it is.

Don’t know what I’d do without this bus service. I’m 80 and don’t drive. It’s my only way to get to appointments. The drivers are all nice and helpful. They get me to my appointments on time and get me home too. Thanks Cap Metro! J Larsen
