CapMetro Bikeshare Reviews

Dissatisfied!

K00Hi on

United States

It is very dissatisfying, I used it for the first time for 18 minutes and charged $24. I do not know what to say, like more than a dollar for a minutes. It is the most unfair rate I have ever been charged. Very dissatisfied. Do not use it if you see it.

Horrible experience

cmb11270 on

United States

It was darn near impossible to use the app the first time, especially for two bikes. We had to create another account for the second bike??? Now I see extra charges of $24 x 2 that I have to spend time figuring out how to correct??? Don’t even bother, big headache and waist of time. I almost forgot, my bike chain was slipping the whole ride making loud clanking noises. I thought the chain was going to come off. Save the frustration and walk.

Great way to get around downtown

Lonny Stern on

United States

I take transit downtown each morning and ride bikeshare to and from my office most days. The bike network is pretty good Downtown, West Campus, SoCo & Ladybird Lake. I recommend the annual pass: it’s $86 for unlimited rides. Otherwise, there are pay-as-you-ride plans that start at $2.99. PROS * Starting a ride is easy with the QR code. * Can see where bikes are on a map * Can see how many bikes are at the dock * Takes many forms of payment * Doesn’t drain battery CONS * hard to add 2+ riders * can’t report non-functional bikes at the dock * network limited to downtown adjacent areas .

Random charge

I downloaded the app since I am a student at UT Austin and I plan on using the pass discount. I didn’t sign up for any passes yet, while I await the promo- but I was suddenly charged for $24?? Really annoying as a student

Ride SCOOTERS INSTEAD

Audreydani on

United States

Downloaded the app at bike station and tried to add a debit card to it to pay for our ride, kept getting a message error : that it doesn’t support that kind of payment. Tried on my boyfriends card and same thing. Annoyed bc we walked Lake Austin for 1 hour and then some, we were going to ride the bikes back the way we came. But then this happened. Thankfully there were a long line of scooters. (Shout out BIRD) Scooters are sooo much better!!

Unable to add card

udueusj on

United States

My account gets suspended and I cannot add/update the same card that I used for the app for years. Not sure what’s wrong with this new app. They are scamming users because your account can be randomly suspended after buying any plans. I bought the one year plan and now cannot use the app anymore.

App doesn’t load the rental agreement

aneilbaboo on

United States

The app couldn’t load the rental agreement so I couldn’t use it. This wasn’t an issue with my cell service - I was able to download the app in less than 10 seconds. It’s a problem with their back end. I was worried about the low star ratings. Now I understand why they’re deserved.

Worked great

Ab Workouts Express App on

United States

App and bike rental worked great. No issues. No clue what other reviewers are talking about.

Watch out Auto-renew

Grow your account!!! on

United States

The auto-renew feature is automatically turned on.. didn’t even know

HORRIBLE DO NOT PURCHASE

Treyoncé on

United States

Absolutely horrible service that should not have been rolled out. Nobody can add cards to get passes. They randomly flag accounts and suspend them. They don’t even have a customer service number for support. So if anything goes wrong during your trip your out of luck until they respond to EMAIL ONLY. I did one bike ride and they suspended my account that had a 30 day pass. With no information on why. Do not waste your money. Find a cheap bike or just use Klarna or something and get your own e-bike.
