Carrier CliMate Reviews

Crappy App

For a company like carrier this app is an embarrassment

Can’t Read Screen

Terrible interface. Functionality is useful, however the characters are too tiny, fuzzy and light to read on my iPhone, even with BOLD ON!

Can’t share across devices

casegrad on

the 3-D barcode sharing doesn’t work and signing in from a different device kicks me off the original device

Impossible to give feedback

Horrible. You just deleted my text in the feedback window when I entered my email address below and clicked the screenshot button. Which incidentally I can’t even see my email address because I use my iPhone in dark mode. And now it is telling me email format is wrong but I can’t see the darn text to see what is wrong. So I ended up just deleting the email. Gosh I hate this app!!! Other things I can’t see also because of dark mode. Also when daylight savings time happens it screws up all the times in schedules which is really frustrating because it woke me up bc my room got too hot too early. Which is a problem with the product itself also, not just the app, as the heater just keeps getting hotter. It’s set to 62 but has gotten my room as hot as 79 because it just keeps going. And it keeps failing to submit this feedback, even after I started fresh and tried not even entering any email. So I had to give up and submit it in the App Store. So frustrating.

I followed the instructions to a T, but it cannot connect.

App asks for permission to access bluetooth on my watch, not wifi. Which makes no sense since my mini splits are Wi-Fi capable. Anyway, it doesn’t work, useless.

This app is garbage

Yarmo Zone. on

It is clear the developers do not have advanced skills. 1) When I turn the units on or off via the app, the physical remote does not update to the current mode. It still shows “off”. 2) I use dark mode on my iPhone. This app does not work in dark mode as you cannot see anything you type in the login fields and other screens are hard or impossible to read. Don’t use dark screen mode if you use this app. I’ll update as I explore this more as I just had the system installed a day ago. 3) Two people/phones cannot be logged in at the same time. It has a share option under the settings, but the QR code is bad and doesn’t have usable data. 4) our renters changed the system to Celsius and the app can’t change it back for Fahrenheit.

Poorly developed app

The theme of the app appears to be white text on a white background, which makes it hard to use. I get the impression the app was poorly tested.

Nice app unless you’re in dark mode

Pretty decent app for an appliance control app, but don’t try to go the user profile or settings UI in dark mode as most of the UI is invisible in dark mode. You have to switch your phone to light mode to use any of those sections of the app.

Seriously?

Carrier, you should be ashamed of yourselves. I have fixed your littered code problems that caused all of my mini splits going off-line all the time. Completely unusable, prior to my fix. Contact me and I’ll be happy to also fix your horrendous app.

Because I can’t give a zero

This app and the unit are constantly losing connection, meaning I have to reconnect them like it is the first day or even worse, I have had to delete the app and reinstall multiple times. I dislike the app as well as the unit and would encourage anyone considering a mini split based on its operation from a smart phone to look elsewhere.
