O Cartola FC Mix foi fundado por dois amigos de infância que se conheceram em Angola, na África. Foi lá que ambos começaram a jogar Cartola em 2007 e perceberam o poder do game de conectar pessoas. Angola era um país limitado em termos de coisas a se fazer, então o CartolaFC deixava a rotina dos dois muito mais animada e ajudava a fortalecer uma amizade que dura até hoje. Em 2010, ambos retornaram ao Brasil, Felipe para Salvador e Gustavo para o Rio de Janeiro.
