Doesn’t offer any guidance on how you can more realistically approach changing your mindset or what to do, so not really sure why it name drops CBT as it’s devoid of any use in teaching. If Liverpool and Manchester grads are churning apps out like this, the uni entrance requirements obviously aren’t getting them the cream of the crop. McDonalds is always hiring.
Only used it a couple of times. Looks a great idea as it prompts you a analyse your own emotions and is simple to use. However it treats positive emotion scores the same way as negative emotions, for example if you achieve a higher strength relaxation after doing something good, it says “oh that’s a pity…”. On the editing side, it would be great if you could go back in and edit an entry or even delete the entry. The only option you get is to delete all entries.
I entered my password incorrectly for a 3rd time. Misremembered it and typing on phone while in a taxi. It deleted all my data and gave me no option to back out of the process. Really disappointed as I wanted to check my moods from a month ago.
The link just goes to the legal services page of the university. For an app collecting such sensitive personal data there doesn’t seem to be much rigour?
I started using this app recently. Overall, it has been really useful. The only minor issue i have had is when logging positive emotions, you still get the message that says “that’s a pity” if the strength is the same or higher. Would be nice to have another message for positive emotions :)
It’s a simple app for recording moods but it could do with a more balanced end-sheet so that if your mood is happiness and it increases, there’s a positive message of encouragement, rather than just focusing on what do do if it’s a negative result. I did find it helpful for a quick capture & reframing of negative thoughts but it could do with more examples of solutions or methods like breathing and emergency stuff to break the cycles of panic or anxiety. If you’ve already had cbt previously that was successful then this might help you remember the good tips and refocus.
The app crashed and deleted all the text from my first report of a mood. It made me more anxious and upset than I already was as I’d spent a lot of time thinking about it.
I have anxiety, depression and PTSD from emotional abuse. This app is literally the best thing ever. I’m new to CBT and have been told to journal by a counsellor. This allows me to record all my anxiety, irritability, PTSD episodes, and depressive periods as well as write the situation, negative thoughts, and turn these into positive thoughts. It really calms me down and soothes my mental state. Only thing I’ve noticed is the “share diary” doesn’t work.
Handy way to digitally capture cbt thought diary. Share facility doesn’t seem to do anything tho, so no good for me!
