Great idea poor delivery Iam afraid, constantly drops connection often fails to reconnect and when it does finally connect there are huge delays that make any sort of conversation impossible
Was looking forward to using this app on a recent road trip to Austria but it never connected to my friends app once Total disappointment I would give it a minus 5 star if I could
Have tried to connect with only one other person and immediately cuts out within a minute.
A couple of us tried this today in London and it’s pretty rubbish. Poor quality audio and a 2 to 3 second time lag. I hope you get it to work, but you’re not there yet!
This is a great idea, which unfortunately does not yet deliver. In use, with a pillion, there is a huge delay, making conversation very difficult. The delay also varies in length, so you can’t even ‘allow for it’. Worse still, the signal quality has such an impact on the clarity, that countryside riding makes conversation worse still, to the point where we gave up. I’d love this to work but at the moment, I think I’ll be forced to leave my beautiful Ruroc helmet at home, so that I can use a simpler Bluetooth intercom in my old lid.
This is a really good concept, but the times I have tried to use it it has dropped out and didn’t reconnect. When it did work it was good, but unfortunately didn’t last the entirety of the ride
I normally use discord for group rides but tried this on a return journey today. Discord used 11% battery (confirmed in battery settings) yet on a shorter quicker route back Chain used 25%! Not only that but the delays were terrible meaning we ended up talking over each other etc
Whilst the idea is there, this doesn’t work very well (for me at least) I have 2 friends that use Packtalk Bold units, have asked them to get the Chain app, we have all signed in to the ride that I have created, but there’s sometimes a major delay on the signal being sent to and from the devices. Sometimes nearly 5 seconds. And if you lock your phone (to not kill the battery) It exits the group chat automatically. All our units and apps are up to date so as of yet, I’m having to use my older Shoei lid on group rides as the Ruroc won’t allow me to talk with them, at least not as good as the PackTalk.
I really like the idea of this app but when I use it, it keeps losing connection when using data, it is okay with Wi-Fi.
