Chess King - Learn to Play is a universe of learning courses. It includes lessons on chess tactics, strategy, and puzzles. Get prepared for battle on the chessboard online and offline with your personal chess trainer. Chess lessons are split by levels, from beginners to masters.
This is a game that has been played for thousands of years, enjoyed by people all over the world. No matter what language you speak or how you spell it - ajedrez, šachy, xadrez, チェス, satranç, scacchi, schach, șah, şahmat, 棋 - the rules remain the same. With the help of our app, you can learn how to play chess, improve your tactics, and reinforce your knowledge through practice.
The app acts as a chess trainer, providing puzzles and helping you to solve them. It conducts chess analysis, gives hints and explanations, and even shows striking refutations of potential mistakes you might make during a game of chess.
Some of the courses include a theoretical section. Theory is presented in an interactive format, allowing you to play against the computer, complete with a real chess timer. You can play chess online and work out incomprehensible moves on the board.

• Your subscription will automatically renew unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24-hours before the end of the current subscription period.
• Your account will be charged for renewal within 24-hours prior to the end of the current subscription period. Automatic renewals will cost the same price you were originally charged for the subscription.
• You can manage your subscriptions and turn off auto-renewal by going to your iTunes Account Settings after purchase.

Great learning process
Everything's not what it seems!
Google Ads
Displays Google Ads at the top of the app, which is very distracting for someone who is autistic. I’d like to buy the CT-ART 10 bundle on the Chess King Learn website, or alternatively several of the in app purchases, but before I do so I’d like confirmation this will remove the ads. I cannot find any reference to this on the store page, or on their websites (confusingly there are several domains with a vaguely 90s style). I have reached out to the developer via their contact email, but so far no response. Their teaching content may well be excellent, but so far their lack of any sales support doesn’t make me want to hand over any money.
Great app ! Totally Compatible VoiceOver !
This app is fantastic. If you like chess this is your app to improve your skills. Courses for all levels , with dedicated sections of theory , practice and puzzles. Developers are pront to respond and they really care. Fully accessible for blind people using VoiceOver. There is free material for you to test well enough is this would be for you. If you arrive to read this, is definetly an app for you. Get it, you will not regret it.
Appears to have a bug?
In the theory section the next/previous buttons do not work, which means I am unable to use the “theory” section of my courses. Please could you update quickly so I can continue to learn!
Training
Good thematic chess training, and CT-ART is a good place to start. But buying multiple courses can end up being quite expensive.
Very Stimulating and enjoyable
Excellent chess course. A mixture of didactic theory in combination with loads of stimulating practice lessons. Very enjoyable. You also get rated which encourages you to progress. You must know a bit of chess (rules etc.) because it does not teaches you chess from a complete novice’s prospective but does start from quite a basic level. Not boring at all but enjoyable because you are given puzzles to solve.
Good but the swipe side panel is annoying
Great puzzles but please remove the swipe gesture to open the menu - dragging pieces from the left of the board opens the menu instead.
Broken but fixed!!
Boards don't show properly, sometimes not at all. Used to be a favourite, but it needs a developer to update and test it for iOS 13. At its current state, it just doesn't work. EDIT - these issues have now thankfully been fixed!!! Back to five stars!!!
Oh dear
Was amazing but latest update has broken it completely. Does not work AT ALL with dark mode / iOS 13!
