Honestly I don’t think I would ever leave Chime . We’ve been rocking together for sometime now. I absolutely love it and they’re extremely thorough so I feel safe with Chime.

Kind of disappointed right now

Normally I would give them 5 million stars. They started a program with something called “My Pay” where they “loan” you money until your next payday. For the last two months everything has been fine. For some reason this month they decreased my amount by half. That’s fine, but they just took what I owed them for the previous month from my paycheck. THEN they decreased what I could get for the next month. I wish they had told me my amount was going to decrease last month before I borrowed anything against my pay. It’s put me back for this month. I’m on a fixed income. I’m retired and my income is from social security. I have been as long as I’ve been with Chime which is five years. I get the same amount deposited each month. I’m really disappointed in this. I feel like they just profited off me and probably a whole lot of other people.

Credit Building Card Doesn’t Build Your Credit.

craigclifton on

The Credit Builder card is false and misleading. Upon enrolling, it actually drops your credit score. Chime says it does that to show that the Credit Builder card improves your credit if used accurately. I have used it accurately and right down to the tea. I’ve used it for subscriptions and some of my small bills that they say will give you a credit boost to your score if paid on time three months in a row. All you get is “needs more time” when tracking your monthly payments. Nothing gets updated and you get absolutely nowhere with customer service. In fact, if you call Chime, their customer service reps know nothing about the Credit Builder card. So 2 ⭐️ is what I give Chime. There’s nothing special they’re just like every other alternative bank.

Better than expected

I was skeptical about using Chime but I’m glad I did! I have $90 in spot me money now so if I go over it’ll pay that! But I don’t have to use the full amount which is essential for myself to not get overdraft fees and I had my old account for over 14yrs until 2023 when I got scammed and hacked 2x in a week! I’m disabled so I filed police report and I was told by my small town bank that they were closing my accounts and they refused to give me a new account on top of that they new it was fraud but due to my medical condition I was not in right mind hence why I got scammed but they didn’t care! All they cared about was that they lost money (pennies to a bank and maybe most people but it was 2 months of my disability which is everything I have to live and to be honest it is not really enough to live comfortably but I’m just thankful that after I became disabled that I have any income!) I was a Dairy farm worker and I also landscaped besides contractor so it’s definitely been a huge adjustment in my life in more ways than just money! But Chime has helped me more than I can truly explain however I will say I am very grateful that I am a chime member now! I wish more banks were like chime and how they truly do more for their members than most! Of course if you have perfect credit you may not care but if I were you I’d open an account with chime and give them a try and then decide if you want to leave your current bank! I am staying with chime!
