"What’s really innovative about Choices...unlike traditional gamebooks that have a definite end, Choices: And the Sun Went Out is a continuing gamebook that will be updated weekly, allowing you to progress through the story over time. As you make choices in your story, it will advance in ways completely differently than other readers when weekly content is added." - PocketTactics.com

Choices That Matter Reviews
Seriously amazing in every way possible im crying
Just finished my first story and im genuinely crying rn i haven’t even been playing that long but i feel like ive been living in that world forever it was just so well done and thorough and nuanced and so beautiful 😭😭😭 i was NOT expecting it to hit that hard. Mild spoilers maybe??? But the “Am I asleep?” And the “Of course!” Immediately just made me pause and cry a good minute. Truly every choice and detail matters and absolutely nothing is insignificant. I love finding incredibly niche games with this amount of effort put into it, it’s art. Im definitely going to continue playing this. It’s crazy that its free. Pro tip for anyone reading if you dont wanna do the 90 cents just take 10 tickets every day til u get 30 or 40 cuz itll get you through the arc USUALLY and its good for pacing ❤️ I LOVE THIS OMFGGGG i could rant all day and night. Moti 😭Thank yalll
Amazing story!
I rarely spend money on apps but I got completely hooked on “and the sun went out” that I’ve spent about 7 dollars or so on tickets and eventually just buying the whole story LOL
Also wish the ads to get some tickets worked :/
It Was Okay
The events of the story were repetitive in a way that was frustrating. I’m glad I made it to the end, though.
I actually would prefer reading a good novel.
Racialized depictions of black characters
Particularly in the story the “heroes are lost” the black team member (number 48) was consistently likened to an animal and a beast. In one instance he is referred to as a “large man like, black creature” which was genuinely so disturbing and saddening to read, especially as a young Black person. I really did enjoy playing this game but am so beyond disheartened to see such a blatantly racist depiction of a Black man. I really hope this is edited in future versions in this game, and for the writers and developers to take accountability and genuinely work towards changing their own perceptions of Black people and work to bring about equity and understanding in their company.
Needs more
The app is great but needs a reread option and more stories.
And the sun went out
I really enjoyed this book! I truly thought my choices made huge differences in the story. I loved that the romantic part of the storyline was inclusive of queer and aromantic people. I came to enjoy Moti, eventhough they felt like a distraction at first. I am looking forward to going through it again after I check out the other stories!
Choices Matter + Great Writing
Every choice you make actually has consequences and can drastically change the out come of your story, so you feel more absorbed and invested in the characters.
The stories are also very well written and feel more akin to a publishable novel vs. the more “Wattpad”, less professional writing style other interactive games tend to feature.
My only complaint would be the amount of free tickets you get in an hour, but you can earn as many tickets as you want through watching ads, so it isn’t too big a deal.
Rewind, stories, etc...
I love this game, and I love playing it especially with the different endings. There are a few things I would like to be possibly changed and/or added if able.
I like the multiple endings for each story, however I am not entirely sure how lany endings there truly are. Not only would I like to know how many there are, but I would like to be able to obtain all of them. I feel like we should have an achievement page of some sort to see what we have achieved and have not.
Another recommendation I have is possibly more stories, I love the game I do. However playing the same three stories can get boring, having to skip through all of the dialogue to get to a new path is complicated.
Last but not least I feel like the rewind button should allow me to change my previous answer, sometimes I pick the wrong choice and want to rewind. But having to fast forward the entire story from the last Arc is frustrating.
You don't have to do any of this, however I feel like personally it would be easier to keep track of, more entertaining with fresh stories, and easier to use.
Amazing!!
I don’t normally leave reviews, but this game deserves it. Out of the three options, And The Sun Went Out is the best.
One thing that I love is how there is romance / no romance options and a pick between two- your gender and name is never mentioned, which I find nice too.
Replaying ATSWO for a second time and I’m getting stuff I didn’t even know happened! I’m definitely going to be replaying all games in a different path. One of my favorite things is how the game, at the end of each arc, tells you what’s happening and a percent of people on that path- once, I got on a path of 1% of players!
All in all, I HIGHLY suggest playing this! I don’t buy tickets so it can take awhile to complete, but it’s 100% worth it!!
Had me crying!
These stories are SO good! Every single choice has a consequence, and I love how it tells you what percentage of people are on the same story arc as yours!!
