Description

ChordCalculus is a tool for players of fretted instruments. ChordCalculus will allow the user to choose from a large number of pre-defined fretted instruments in a variety of tunings. Additionally, the user can define new instruments and/or tunings. Single or multiple capos can be added. The user then picks from one of four operating modes using the segmented selectors at the center top of the display:
* (C)hord Calculator:
Show all fingerings for chords for a given instrument/tuning, filters, capos, and fret span.
* Chord (I)dentifer:
For a given instrument/tuning and fingering, display all possible names for a chord
* (S)cale Display:
For an instrument/tuning, key and scale type, display the scale, and play a two-octave scale
* (P)rogression Player:
Derived from chord mode, display fingerings for a chord progression. Also plays chords in sequence.
In all cases, the chords can be played as a chord or arpeggio and the scale played back.
As of version 2.0, an instrument tuner is accessed by long touching the tuning button.

Crashing

Dave, very much, FCD on

Upgraded rating. Thanks to the developer for his quick response. The app runs fine now. Three stars because the user interface is a bit opaque. [Original review: Bought this yesterday (7/3/19) and installed it on my phone (iPhone XS Max, iOS 12.3.1). It ran fine then, but subsequent attempts to run the app on the following day failed, with the app crashing after displaying the splash screen. Hard iPhone reset failed to resolve the issue.]

Has been a decent app until latest update - now it fails to launch! There is no contact info in the developers page to report this or find a solution! *UPDATE* Quick turnaround on bug fix! I enjoy the app and the interface is fairly intuitive. I have multiple chord apps and I find this one to be my go to for chording. Keep up the good work!

Help!

UPDATE: Looks like my issue was user error. Cool app, especially for free! This is a really useful app, and I use it all the time. However, the latest update appears to be non-functional on my iPhone 8+. Specifically, the “Type” menu on the left-most screen has disappeared. This app really is cool, so I hope a fix will be forthcoming. When it works, it’s five stars!
