"ChordPolyPad" is a MIDI chords player that allows you to create chord sets from a large internal library, from any combination of notes, or from chords generated randomly. Each set consists of 8 groups of 16 pads, or 2 groups of 64 pads.
In addition to play chords, each pad can generate customizable MIDI controls on its horizontal and vertical axis.
It can be used as a standalone application or an AUv3 MIDI effect plug-in.
The application supports full internal and external MIDI connections for input and output. An internal sound bank is included.
The AUv3 MIDI effect plug-in supports multiple instances. A compatible host is required to run the plug-in. The host needs to support the Audio Unit v3 (AUv3) MIDI effect format.
Hosts supporting AUv3 MIDI effect on iOS: Logic Pro, Cubasis, Beatmaker, AUM, Audiobus, NanoStudio, Auria Pro, apeMatrix.
Hosts supporting AUv3 MIDI effect on macOS: Logic Pro 10.7 or later.

ChordPolyPad FAQ
Is ChordPolyPad free?
ChordPolyPad is not free (it costs 20.00), however it doesn't contain in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is ChordPolyPad legit?
✅ The ChordPolyPad app appears to be high-quality and legitimate. Users are very satisfied.
My primary music interface
I give it 5 stars because my whole music making loop system wouldn’t work without it. You can use the pads as XY MIDI controls, connected to AUM or whatever software you use. It’s absolutely fabulous, and the only interface of this type that you can fully customize directly from an iPhone.
That said, I wish the programmer would fix these 3 things:
1. The app often stops running when it’s in the background, and has to refresh when you go back to it, which means you have to wait a few seconds before being able to press anything again. Also you lose any changes you have made. This is the case even if ChordPolyPad is open in Audiobus (as it is in my system)
2. If each pad had a little indicator which simply showed where you pressed it last, that would be a game changer (for using as XY pads like I do)
3. (Not as important): being able to change pad color, not just text color, would be much more visible and clear.
Hope this app keeps thriving and evolving, love it!
Great Product And Support
Really liking this app. Took a little time to understand it.
Support was excellent when I e-mailed a question. The support was what sold me on the app.
Chord Poly Pad
I'm a GEE-Tar player. Cant read music, dont play a keyboard, just learned enough about MIDI to be extremely dangerous. But, I gotta say, Im having a blast with this app. And the developer seems to understand the things we need and want in EVERY App., such as AUV3, being both stand-alone, being hosted by AUM and most common DAWs, etc., Ableton-Link sync capability, MIDI In/oUT, bla bla, logical layout, intuitive, as simple as possible, both in-App Manual AND a downloadable PDF ( none of that no OFF-line PDF crap!). DUH! We want to look at offline manual on our older Ipads while figuring out the app on our new Ipad. Highly Recommend, one of the best values out there. Thanks Mr. Coulson. Rob H.
Great first impression!!!
Just downloaded this app and I am having a great time playing chord progressions. I Can’t wait to get into more of the detailed settings. This seems like a fun and useful tool to use with other apps to make music intuitive and fun again. It seems to have limited built in sounds in the palate, but I’m pairing with other synth apps to yield more variety of sounds. I had to channel the midi output settings a bit. Maybe I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but I got this thing making music rather quickly. I’m thinking this has a lot of potential.
Easy to Use, Easy to Customize, Extremely Useful
I use this app a lot because it is so useful in so many different work flows.
Nice presets, a great chord library, and cool randomization make quick use a breeze.
All of the deeper features that I want are there too. Customizing individual note velocities, global transpose, strum settings, MIDI-input of chords as well as midi triggering of chords … this app is really flexible once you get to know it.
Great to use when making music on an iPad or iPhone. Also superb to use as a controller for a desktop DAW.
Wish it had velocity input from Cubasis
Along with your other apps, I am finding myself wishing it had some realtime velocity control. I know this is possible from playing within the app but I would like to have the same capability with an external keyboard.
Change of heart.
I originally gave this 1 star since it was not recording the midi into beatmaker 3. I reached out to the dev and was advised on how to get it going. Now it works
“ Beatmaker 3 does not record the MIDI from AUv3 MIDI effects. You need to use Beatmaker 3 virtual keyboard to trigger ChordPolyPad, then it will record the notes played by its own keyboard that will trigger ChordPolyPad. This is not a limitation of ChordPolyPad, but a limitation of Beatmaker 3.”
Buggy
I can barely click on any chords on my iPad
I’m barely getting any sounds
Amazing tool
Was great before and now auv3 makes it even more versatile. Great creative tool for playing expressive chords and coming up with new sequences especially if your keyboard skills are lacking
