App ends without saving trips.
The app has a lot of potential , easy to use, however it ends without recording your trip. Has happened the two times I’ve used.
Yes, Citizen Bike is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Not enough reviews to make a reliable assessment. The app needs more user feedback.

The app locks up half the time it’s used. Then, you also lose history. Contrast in the sun not so good. Orange looks great inside but almost unreadable in the sun (phone mounted on handlebars). The locking up issue is the biggest problem, though.
Pretty pointless app since it doesn't function unless you set your phone to stay unlocked. Even then, it always says it has a weak signal even if you're in an amazing coverage area. Great idea, terrible execution.
I will try it again but it was completely wrong
The bike is amazing! The controls on the app aren’t made to be thumb side where the bike mount would be located for ease of use. The signal notice always tells me my GPS is bad no matter if I’m blanketed under WiFi or using my bike in open space and have full cell service. It has never crashed on me but it took two or more “why did it stop?” runs before I realized it has no background functionality. I went to change the playlist and it kills the run. It has no Apple Watch functionality at all. Heart rate and real time numbers would be epic. It has no bicycle map overlay although they are readily available in most metro areas. I’ve read the other reviews and the mapping has never cut off on me personally. I live in NYC and it uses the google maps brand pretty well. I gave it 4 stars because for what it is now it’s not a bad app at all. It does better than what other similar apps do before tons in app purchases. It doesn’t get 5 stars because it comes from a Bike manufacturer who sells a great product, I can expect nothing less from a simple phone app. It will be great with over time adjustments and updates of that I’m certain.
The bike is just too good to be true! I love it!!!!! Thennnnn there is the app. I wanted to, of course, keep track of distance and time with the app. I'm able to start it, but after my ride, I slide the button over to the stop button and the app completely shuts off. Ugh. So now I can't see my distance nor have a history because when it shuts down, it doesn't save. This bug seems fixable. Hopefully they fix it and I'll be sure you write another review!
Shame this app is pretty much useless. The mapping function force closes the app. While recording a trip, as soon as I clicked stopped, another force close. Not a huge fan :(
Just ordered my bike, and eagerly downloaded this app. It's well-designed, but everytime I try and access the mapping section, the app shuts down. It's not a lot of use to me without that functionality. Excited to get riding on my SEOUL, and I'll happily re-rate this app after this glitch is fixed.
Great app if it would start saving my trips and quit closing unexpectedly, especially when I hit the mapping button.
