Civil War Battle Maps

The maps included in this app give only one or two static representations of the situation and fighting in that place. They are by no means interactive, nor are they clear depictions of unit movements. Similarly, the historical descriptions of the units involved, their tactics, intentions, and casualties are fairly rudimentary. (And could benefit from a copy edit for syntax & grammar, at least.) That being said, this app shows potential. I hope that it’s further developed.

Used to love this app but maps no longer load for my location and I can no longer login to see my saved maps. Please fix this great app!

Was just browsing the Gettysburg Day 1 app and you have Scales and Perrin’s brigade made up of Virginia units when they were both made up of NC and SC units. May need to fix it

If you are a Civil War buff, this and other Battlefield Trust apps are incredible references if you visit actual Civil War battlefields or want quick access to maps as you read about the different battles.

These are among my favorite maps to reference for any video I do on the Civil War. They’re clear and concise, easy to read. The American Battlefield Trust is among the best groups out there that are working to preserve our battlefields. Note: If visiting a battlefield, grab a NPS map there to use with these - these are battle maps and it would be helpful to have additional references to get a good visual when actually at the battlefields.

There is nothing educational about this app except maybe the locations of the battles themselves.

It’s often a bit confusing when you’re visiting a battlefield to truly get a grasp on what you’re looking at, or perhaps where certain fights might of occurred. This app is an overall summary of popular battles throughout the civil war, and let’s you easily navigate them with pictures and details of the battles. It isn’t bogged down with a bunch of advertisements for a quick buck, and respectfully has a responsive layout. Battlefield trust is actually quite trustworthy in my book. Good organization, with some good apps that isn’t wanting you to pay for a premium version. I’d recommend it.

Overall I really like the app just mad it does not have the battle of Schrute farm the most northern battle of the civil war
