Description

NETFLIX MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED.
Build sprawling cities, invest in cultural progress and forge alliances — or wage war. The world is yours to lead in this classic strategy game.
Originally created by legendary game designer Sid Meier, "Civilization" is a turn-based strategy game in which you go head-to-head with history's greatest leaders as you build an empire to stand the test of time. Whether you're brand new to turn-based strategy or a seasoned 4X expert, this vast tactical world-building game gives you the tools to start a civilization and guide it from the first Stone Age settlement to the stars.
With this version of "Civilization VI," Netflix members have access to all expansion packs and content included in the Platinum Edition of the game. The only thing you need to establish a legendary empire is time and a finely honed strategy.
FROM VILLAGES TO KINGDOMS
• Develop each city into a bustling metropolis, turn by turn and tile by tile. Build improvements, districts and wonders to make strategic use of resources nearby; train new units to defend your territory and explore the world around you.
• As your empire expands, choose the right scientific and civic advances to fuel growth, increase your political influence and give you an edge against regional rivals in trade or war.
MANY PATHS TO VICTORY
• Forge lasting power as you build your civilization through the centuries, from a medieval kingdom to a modern superpower.
• With multiple ways to win, every strategy is viable: Will you battle it out for military dominance? Avoid war through clever diplomacy? Or focus on resource management to leap ahead in technological discovery?
A WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES
• This Netflix edition of the award-winning 4X strategy game includes the "Rise and Fall" and "Gathering Storm" expansions, plus more content packs that open up new regions and cultures. With a huge array of civilizations and scenarios to choose from, rewrite history however you want to.
• Play alone, with up to four players in local multiplayer mode, or with up to six in hotseat mode on the same device.
- Created by Aspyr, 2K and Firaxis.

Steyn City Estate Reviews

Disappointed

Keeps crashing during city range attacks. Should have been fixed by now.

Great game but freezes regularly

I absolutely love Civ and played on a few different consoles. Unfortunately this crashes a lot and freezes on iPad which makes it unusable

Requires Netflix premium account

That’s £9.95 ok if you already subscribe to Netflix but expensive if you just want to play civ occasionally.

Unplayable & rubbish resolution

H__23 on

Can’t download resources using a WiFi hotspot apparently. Just keeps telling me there is no internet connection when the app itself downloaded from the App Store on 5G connection either no problem, so clearly I do have WiFi. Very slow to load in the first place anyway and I’m on a brand new m4 iPad Pro. If it can’t run well on this I can’t imagine how god awful it is on lesser devices. Additionally, the graphics and resolution are beyond a joke c everything is pixelated and blurry. You can barely read anything. Really, really poor.

Game area is small and fiddly

MDESTROYER on

United Kingdom

The game is virtually unplayable. The choice of font sizes and colours make it impossible to read the text. The tutorial is just a series slides at the beginning of the game. In game tutorial and better graphic design is needed

Please can you sort backbone support

Can’t believe this is free. (If you already have Netflix)

I presumed this would be a very reduced version of the full game, but it seems to be a fully fledged version of Civilisation. I haven’t played Civ in years and am immediately hooked again!

Bloatware

CompleteB on

United Kingdom

An extra THREE gigabytes once the initial FOUR have been downloaded? Are you on drugs? This is all the more galling given how great the definitive instalment of this game, Civilisation II, actually is. How about actually acknowledging the greatness of your catalogue for once, rather than trying to shove turgid over engineered dross onto your userbase. Game companies are The Worst.

Thank you Netflix

I’ve never been so pleased to see a game port over to mobile. Well done to whoever made that decision, on behalf of all the seasoned players like me and the waves of new fans this will bring in, thank you.
