^^ but still a great game
...had to come here to say how much I hate iOS8. It is slow, it is buggy and has no advantage over i OS7. Rant done.
It's all faithful to the original and plays great. Love it!
Just like the original back in the 90's
Excellent recreation of the often creepy and claustrophobic original. Really enjoyed playing many levels of it right up until I hit the showstopping bug a couple of others have reported (after "Begging For Mercy Makes Me Angry" the "Captured" chapter splash screen appears then clears, and then the "Loading" bar appears as normal, but it sits there for a while without moving then the app crashes back to the home screen). Such a good job up 'til that point I still give it four stars.
I played the heck out of this game years ago, after downloading all you get is a black screen.
The game that got me hooked on FPS.... Being able to play on my iPhone and iPad is simply awesome.... Hoping this paves the way for RTCW and Deus Ex (v1)
Thanks for fixing the dead switch bug, enjoying the game immensely. There is a re-occurring bug that prevents turning, but it's only a minor annoyance. "Re-booting" the game fixes it.
It's the Marathon 2 that I loved as a kid. Even though the advertising all touts it as an iPad app, the controls scale perfectly well for the smaller screen of the iPhone. The ammo display is microscopic, and I'll admit I can't quite run and gun as fast as I could in "Total Carnage" mode on the Mac back in the 90's, but it works, and the nostalgia just keeps rushing over me. Anyway, you can always video mirror it to a monitor or TV, and suddenly the control sizes are a non-issue. I would love to try this on the iPad, which I feel would be a perfect size. Anyway, it's free, and I can't argue with that. I agree with one of the other reviewers: it would be useful to turn off the auto-center looking. I'm looking forward to the logical future release of Infinity!
