i love this app but there’s no ability to turn off hearing myself through my iphone speaker while i’m talking. 90% of the time i don’t use headphones and utilize it like a radio. please add functionality to turn off hearing myself through my on speaker as i’m talking as it’s so frustrating and makes my words come out all jumbled because it throws me off
This app is an operational game changer. Would give it 6 stars if I could; most complaints from older reviews have been addressed. We use it daily with 20+ users throughout the US. When the shows travel, we’ve used it in Europe for intercom and even used it as a wireless IFB unit for talent when we needed to add an extra IFB which the local provider didn’t have in their system. Extremely low latency no matter where in the world it’s been used. Used with a ClearCom frame, the possibilities are endless. Support from ClearCom has been great as well. Highly recommend!
This is by far the most comprehensive, user friendly app based intercom software out there. If you have a Clear Com system, this app basically converts an iOS or Android device to a 15 or 23 channel intercom key panel. Not only does it allow standard PL communications, it allows point to point communications between Agent-IC users and with hardwired KP panels back at the facility, full IFB interrupt capabilities and many other features of a Clear Com system. We have 40 licenses and 60+ users on various shows and it has been rock solid. Only limitation is users internet service, but it also runs on cellular and doesn’t burn up a lot of data. This app has changed the way we work and the way we planning for future productions.
A bit of investment in development and publishing some user configuration manuals for corporate IT would pay out hugely. Here’s why. 1) Needs more robust app interface with wifi: when moving around a large corporate environment, com goes out when switching between WAPs. Signal doesn’t get re-established automatically. Must kill app, turn wifi off and on again, then relaunch app to regain coms. Conversely, for example, I routinely walk around with my phone switching between multiple WAP’s while connected to a call on MS Teams/WebEx/Zoom and my connection rarely drops. When it does, I get reconnected automatically. 2) Needs to integrate iOS permission to keep screen turned on: Wearing a mask (COVID + FaceID) and having a corporate IT policy which time’s out the phone screen after two minutes along with having to enter a long password is a killer. Conversely, I can navigate using Maps and Waze for hours without screen timing out. Probably an easy fix. 3) Kills the air pod batteries suuuuper fast. During a multi day live event last week, I had to swap AirPods every 20 minutes because the battery was draining that fast. Incredibly frustrating when my hands were full and coms were essential to my team’s success. Conversely, I watched the preshow, the entire presidential debate this evening AND a half hour post show wrap up on my single left AirPod using the CBS news app. Definitely worth investing in a developer to work this out. If clearcom can address these issues, this would otherwise be a 5 star app.
It’s an excellent intercom app, but CC limits the number of items you can display on the iPad to 15. The programming software allows programming of 23 items, and these will all display on an iPhone, with scrolling. The iPad would be a great interface if you could use them. Why limit the function??
Love it! Would love it more to have an option to/or disable all sources selected to listen upon login. This can scare the **** out of you when everything comes blasting out of your speakers or headphones! An option in settings would be AWESOME! Disconnect/loss of service recovery would also be great. Lots of others I talk to in the industry complain of these as well. Thanks!
I use this app regularly. It works well and is a great asset to our productions. I wish the licensing were more affordable and flexible but overall the app is excellent
Someone just sent me this app. Not even sure what it does yet. What I do know if it's from Clear Com, it's going to be awesome.
