ClearStream TV Reviews

Great Device for Cord Cutters

ginodanc on

United States

I have an apple TV with a projector as my primary streaming device, I use this product to get my local channels free. Although set up may take some time and experimentation for where best antenna signal is located, once it is set up it is flawless. I now get 50 channels free to complement my steaming services. Wish this product were more available or easier to buy in stores.

Chromecast Isn’t Working

Says it supports Chromecast. Doesn’t. The manufacturer lied.

Would give 5 stars if...

We could add nicknames and favorites. Obviously the performance of the device itself depends greatly on your antenna strength/location, your phone and performance of your wireless network. With that said, freaking awesome!!!

Why doesn’t everyone have a ClearstreamTV?

CB Clinto on

Shout out to the ClearstreamTV team for a great product and responsive tech support. iOS 13 created an incompatibility with HD channels, and they promptly updated the app to fix it. Back to watching ABC, NBC, FOX, CBS, PBS, etc in HD on all my devices for $0 per month.

Xs Max Support?

Wheresdabeeef62 on

I would have rated 5 stars if this displayed correctly on the XS Max. It is definitely formatted for older iPhones and hasn’t been updated.

Underrated — great concept, works great

If you are cutting the cord, then plan on spending the next 3 months cable bill to make this work right. You need a proper antenna setup and a good router near the device. If you are trying to get out on the cheap then don’t try this...at least have some appreciation for learning your broadcasting options and how to receive signals correctly. Plan on having a router near this device. This device is awesome, but it needs a good signal from your antenna and it needs to be close to a router. Once you have that setup then all TVs on your router’s network with Roku will work. Thank you ClearStream, great product, I hope you keep making this product and not stop making it b/c of all the cheap-o dummies out there. Been using mine for over a year now.

iPhone X,XS Support?

Well not off to a great start but app not formatted for iPhone XS support yet

NEEDS A LOT OF WORK!

Blister1 on

United States

When it works it is only OK. Had to move within 6 feet of router, to get it to stream steadily. Setup had to be run over and over many times, to even get started. Customer service, no help at all. Crashes repeatedly, for no apparent reason. Very difficult to keep up and streaming. Requires almost daily adjustment and rescans, won’t hold channels. Clearstream says it runs hot. That is a real under statement. If I had young children, I would be afraid of. Certainly not the product, it should be. NEEDS A LOT OF IMPROVEMENT.

Never Could Find Channels

Awoodrey on

United States

App installed easily. Connected to WiFi easily. Spent over an hour trouble shooting and manually resetting in order to scan for channels. After more than a dozen attempts and calling customer service, I gave up. Too bad it didn’t work. Was really looking forward to trying it out.

Didn’t work for me

Kramnesyob on

United States

1) It wouldn’t connect to my routers 5G network at all (other devices I have are) so use had no choice but to use my 2.4G network 2) Set up QoS so the device had the highest priority 3) I tried three different HD antennas, all with powered amplifiers & without, in 10 different areas (rooms in my house, outside & attic) and even on standard definition it was jittery. 4) Setup was lengthy, couldn’t “delete” or “remove” the device from the app 5) Scanning channels each time took over 6 minutes 6) Reset of the device took 5 attempts, following the app instructions exactly 7) Messed around with it for two days & a total of about eight hours with poor results 8) Device gets very hot Result: went back to an HD antenna without powered amplifier, had a better signal than the above & returned to store for a refund.
