Click2Houston FAQ
Is Click2Houston free?
Yes, Click2Houston is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is Click2Houston legit?
⚠️ The Click2Houston app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
This was my go-to news app for years. I trusted their content and it was easy to use.
However, they have since
single-handedly ruined their app with a recent update. They have added ads at every level. This is the ONLY news app that will push an ad prior to clicking on a headline. It’s obnoxious and shows profit before news and community awareness. For example, an urgent alert was pushed to my phone stating law enforcement requests the community’s help in identifying a murder suspect on the run. Click the link and they push a video ad first. How many people are going to cancel out of the ad before getting to the news alert thus decreasing the exposure of the info? The optics are very bad on this one KPRC. Find a way to generate advert income (like all the other news apps) without compromising the safety of our community and their engagement.
USED to rely on this app -
I had to delete the app because they have more pop-up ads then content. Unreal!
I used to rely on this app for an overview of Houston news. In the past few months, the app changed to including a relentless amount of pop up ads if you click to read any content. It is insane. I thought it might be a glitch from an update, but alas, it seems to be their new norm. Wow, I have never seen a news app tank so quickly. Don’t waste your time.
Too many ads
I prefer to read my news without the constant ads popping up. Open the app, there’s a ad. Open an article, there’s a ad. Do better channel 2.
Adds
As soon as you click the app, an advertisement pops up!
Too many videos also!
Way to many ads
Why do I need to watch a commercial every time this app opens up?
Only to click on a news story with more ads than news content.
This was my goto for years, sadly I just deleted it.
Zero stars if I could.
Too many ads
I used to love this app but they recently changed to where a video auto plays on the top (and no option I see to stop auto play). If that wasn't annoying enough, now when you open the app a FULL PAGE advertisement plays and you have to watch the whole thing before getting to the articles. There is no way to close it out. I'm deleting this app. When I want to check the news, I want quick and easy. Not ad filled.
Smh Ads
Nothing but ads!! Time to switch news station
Recent update with adds is frustrating
I’m a 20 year KPRC viewer, as long as I’ve been in Houston, and have loved the app as well as the 2+ app. The recent update that sends me to an add every time I click on a notification has me ready to delete the app. App designers, please consider removing this feature. I know there is a need to make money but your about to lose app users.
Ads!!
Used to be a great app but they’ve recently added ads and you click on a news article, you have to watch a video first. This adds to the adds in articles and stories. I don’t mind the images for ads but forcing me to watch is too much.
Ads
When I open a news app I want the news, not an advertisement. Don’t send me breaking news notifications when I can’t link directly to it without seeing an ad first. This was my go to news app but think I’ll be switching to one of the other local stations’ app from now on.
BTW, I hate the new weather section as well.
