No time limit?!
Why isn’t there a time limit for this game? The opposing player can take forever to make a move, leaving the game at a standstill. Plus, you can’t even quit an inactive game without getting penalized. This really affects the overall experience.
Amazing app for an amazing game
This app is more than just a digital implementation of Codenames. It adds daily missions, special game modes, and a progression/achievement system. Plus, the app is well designed (interface, graphics, etc.) and runs flawlessly. I highly recommend this to those who like word games or board games (even if you already own the physical game, like I do). At its current price of $5, it’s a steal.

Such a well made app!
This app does such a fantastic job at bringing the game to mobile - wonderful job devs!!! I love that it is a one time purchase with no micro transactions. I love that you level up and unlock more features as you play. I love that you can pass and play (ie a group of people can play on one device!). The only thing that I can think of that would make this game even BETTER is to support different themes, word packs, and Codenames Duet! 😁
Rampant cheating
Lots of cheating going on. Fun game but who wants to play with cheaters? Nobody.
Not My Preferred Way to Enjoy Codenames
I appreciate the developers making this a flat-sale game without subscriptions or microtransactions. But at the end of the day, it’s just not a fun way to enjoy Codenames. it’s too busy with tokens and sidequests, and finishing a PvP game with other players is insufferable. You’ll have 10 active games open and still have to wait half a day between moves. I would revisit if the devs cut out the “mission” fluff and implemented a 10-minute timer before a player gets bounced. As it stands now, I’ll stick with the board game.
