Description

iOS version of the popular Macintosh brick breaking game. Destroy the bricks by bouncing up one or more balls. Contrary to other similar games, these balls actually behave like real balls, bouncing off corners correctly and even colliding with each other. Colibricks also features rotated bricks, so instead of boring horizontal grids you'll get circles, spirals, and so on.
Many kinds of special bricks will grow or shrink the paddle, give you extra lives, points or equipment like the magnet or laser, and even change the size of the balls so you'll sometimes end up with a screen full of balls of different sizes (and corresponding weights). Some bricks will actually try to shoot your paddle, so stay away from those arrows!
Colibricks features 50 different levels, many of them requiring different strategies so that your score depends on skill and cleverness rather than luck. Gameplay is extremely smooth. The paddle can be controlled by touch or tilt.

Colibricks Reviews

Game showing its age

Kauakea2 on

I have played this game for years and love it. Unfortunately, it goes crazy after a while and I have to delete and then reinstall it. Of course, I then lose my old scores. It is currently stopping at random places saying I have finished all levels. Sometimes the ball starts at the top of the screen. Wacky things. Still fun but disappointing to be cut off just when you have a good game string going.

Still my favorite brick breaking game

I remember downloading this for my old G3 iBook way back in the day. The graphics could use some polishing to bring them up to 2022 standards, but the game play and mechanics are still top notch.

Sticky Fingers!

Beausoleilrigard on

United States

I had this game on Mac long ago, and just purchased it for iPad play. Overall it’s well ported, but by the time you get to the 5th level, your finger is going to start sticking when you try to move the slider, and you will quickly start to lose balls. I think this is due to oil from your fingers mucking up the screen. I don’t know for sure. But if you just want to muck around and not make a championship run, it’s ok.

Never tire of this game!

Been playing for over 3 years. Always a challenge to try and get a higher score. Also a challenge to get to higher levels without loosing a life. High score (so far) is over 3,000,000. I would like to have the ability to save a game for when my daughter wants to play - but I’d like to keep the game I’m the middle of.

Still love it

Been playing this for over six years now. I'm still lousy at it, it it's my go-to game for relaxing for a few minutes on a commute or something. I've never had issues with the controls that weren't caused by either sticky fingers or a dirty screen. Level design progresses well and is always challenging.

Love this game!

This was one of the first games I found that could run under OS X a long time ago, and it's still a lot of fun on iOS!

Seriously flawed

Whodoyoulove on

United States

Fun game great for strategy and hand-eye coordination. But the flaw is that the bar frequently misplays - it will move to the right off the play; it will freeze in place; it will discharge balls without your action to do so. What then is a fun game where you develop skills becomes nothing but a frustrating game of losing opportunities to play because of issues with a malfunctioning slide bar. Fix that in the program and you have a winner - with no fix to the errant slide bar you

Addicted but disappointed

lancerdd3 on

I am addicted. However, within the last year, the touch controls for this game have stopped working correctly. Sometimes the slide bar does not respond to my touch. (No, it's not the device, as I have different devices and I now have a brand new iphone and the game responds the same on them all.) I am Getz g disillusioned with the game as a result of these bugs. Otherwise, this would be a 5-star app!

Addictive
