Collective Reviews

A safe space

I’m so happy I came across Collective on inst***am. The move by tech companies to the right, to allow hate speech against the lgbtqia+ community, is galling. Collective is a community of likeminded and supportive people who only wish to express themselves fully and without fear of reprisal. Positivity will always win over hate.

Beautiful app with beautiful creators changing the media space in a creative and innovative way.

This app should be illegal

The app employs potentially misleading practices that may create a sense of entrapment for users. Initially, it imposes a 10-hour wait, followed by an additional six-week delay, unless users opt to purchase a subscription to bypass the extended waiting period. This approach appears to leverage psychological pressure to encourage subscriptions, which could be perceived as manipulative. Additionally, the app explicitly discourages users from taking screenshots of payment offers or sharing them with others, raising significant concerns about transparency and fairness in its payment practices. Given the nature of these practices, a thorough investigation should be conducted to ensure the app complies with ethical standards and consumer protection regulations.

^^^that is how i feel about this app so far, and I haven't even been able to access it. There is a wait list in order to prevent harassment, which I understand, but here is where my problem lies. After filling out the online form to create my account, it said that there would be an invite code sent to my email account within the next 24 hours. Well here i am, 36 hours later and still nothing in my email. So i tried contacting support, and had to go through a whole other form which included submitting a photo of myself, my instagram account, my twitter account, and a detailed description of what I could bring to collective as a creative. A) that is far too much to do just to try to get help to access the app then get told you'll get notifications through the app about your account - how am I supposed to receive notifications through the app if i cant even get in??? Seriously work on that. And B) if you advertise yourself as a digital gay bar, that is what you should be. But you are a digital collective for LGBTQ+ creatives, even though you don't advertise your app as one. Fix your advertising so you'll get the right people downloading the app, otherwise all you will receive is complaints. (I say this as someone who just finished writing a novel) I sincerely hope to see this issue resolved, but I highly doubt it will be.

Collective, is a wonderful platform to express one’s self, true passions, wild>crazy sides in a safe & loving place/community. Would recommend it to anyone who would like to connect with likeminded people from all over the world! D

Not worth your effort

Not worth your time of day. They only allow in very select people of a very specific kind of ‘creative’ their advertising is super misleading, there is no inclusion it’s just for the privileged few. Even if you try to contact them they’ll just ignore you. Waste of time plain and simple

Where is inclusivity?

Ely Wong on

Very select people are invited or allowed to join. They say it’s a gay app, but then they tell you they only allow queer from creative field. Very misleading. Very Elitist. This is what’s wrong with social media today. It only caters Elite people, only those who show extravagant lifestyle. Where’s the queer communion? This brings us back to our history when gay men discriminates femme and trans. The queer community is rotten in the inside because we discriminate each other. And this app is no different.

All I can say

Why advertise it as a meet new people or new romance app where you only accept people who work in creative fields a bit much though

Toxic & cliquey

If you aren’t the developers friend, then it’s literally like, ‘why are you on this app…’ so disappointing lol
